Actually, this is the one promise Obama has kept. In one of the early debates when asked about Afghanistan, he said he would invade Pakistan to take out the Taliban. It was considered a gaff at the time and Obama “corrected” himself, but history tells a different story.

Whoa, that’s spooky. I do, in fact, have issues with procrastination. I record Common Sense at 4:00 PM Thursday. The studio is slightly more than a half hour away. At 12:30 I was eating pizza and talking to my nephew without a word on paper and still lacking even a subject. That’s how I ended up talking about the son-of-a-bitch in the White House again.

Actually, I fell asleep in the recliner, a side effect of the Gabapentin, and when I woke up, I came here.
The Gabapentin (900 mg 3x/day) is for the tingling/numbness I get in my feet and toes from the stenosis.

change stenosis to diabetic neuropathy and you have an accurate statement…your not keeping your diabetes in check…we’ve talked about this before Poppa. You have to take care of yourself first or you won’t be around to take care of everybody else around you.

Except that the Dr did an MRI and determined that it was the stenosis. I only get the tingling/numbness when I lie down in bed.

Maybe that’s why the drug is having zero effect. It’s just that the neurologist refused to see me until they tried the Gabapentin first. I’ve been on it 5 months now, starting with low dosage (300 mg 2x/day).

The infection that almost cost you your hand, the osteomyelitis that could have cost you your leg, and the neuropathy in your feet are ALL COMPLICATIONS OF DIABETES. The Dr said it wasn’t the diabetes, she saw the MRI. I have stenosis in my neck AND lower back! It’s not a good thing apparently. Since it only happens when I lay down, she said it is a complication of the stenosis. The neurologist wanted me to do the meds first, hoping it would ease the effect on the nerves, but now it looks like I will have to see the neurologist. It is possible that I may need to have the surgery for the stenosis.

I understand the infections (cellulitis) were complications of the diabetes. I know the sugar slows down the healing process. I also know that neuropathy is a complication of diabetes, I don’t want to argue with you either, unless you promise to spank me!

OLD TIMER’S HOSPITAL STAY …
I am a pretty sick old man.
One week I was sick and in the hospital.
There was one nurse that just drove me crazy.
Every time she came in, she would talk to me like I was a little child.
She would say in a patronizing tone of voice, ‘And how are we doing this morning?’
Or ‘Are we ready for a bath’, or ‘Are we hungry ?’
I had had enough of this particular nurse.
One day, at breakfast, I took the apple juice off the tray
and put it in my bed side stand.
Later, I was given a urine bottle to fill for testing.
So you know where the juice went !
The nurse came in a little later, picked up the urine bottle and looked at it.
‘My, it seems we are a little cloudy today. ‘
At this, I snatched the bottle out of her hand, popped off the top,
and drank it down, saying, ‘Well, I’ll run it
through again. Maybe I can filter it better this time.’
The nurse fainted……….
I just smiled.
