AARP members are angry enough to become ex-AARP members
About 60,000 senior citizens have left AARP since July 1 without leaving this earthly soil. No, in this case, the defections can be traced directly to the organization’s support for Obama’s health care overhaul.
An AARP spokesman painted the best possible picture of the situation by saying it wasn’t unusual for the powerful, 40 million member lobbying group to lose members when it speaks out on controversial issues.
AARP has thrown is considerable weight behind ObamaCare. It’s running TV commercials and even hosted an online forum where the president promoted his socialized vision of healthcare to AARP members. The group is quick to say it hasn’t endorsed any specific bill and claims it won’t plan a plan that reduces Medicare benefits, but it looks like 60,000 of its members aren’t buying it.
AARP can say whatever it wants, but we don’t think hearing problems can be blamed for the fact that seniors are getting a completely different message.

BOTTOMLINE; What is it, short term memory loss, not paying attention, laziness, naivete’, was their life style not important enough to them in November 2008, but it is now? This is my ? to America & to the MAJORITY of those 60k former AARP members who voted for “The Oman/Chicago Thuggery Administration”, it’s not as if there wasn’t a track record! “The Oman” never VOTED, he made his mark, an X for present, & Chicago’s HISTORY, if you’re not aware of it, please forfeit your privileged voters card & re-enter head back into hole or under rock, because your’re interfering w/the rest us & our FREEDOMS ! So many have & are sacrificing every day, the military & families of, volunteers, real public servants the police & fire depts, entrepreneurs providing jobs which drives the commerce & eco-nomy! We need to continue to hound ?’s @ Barney Frank, “The Oman” & the rest of the ilk so that they expose themselves for who they really are, with their arro-gant, guileful liberal fascist, socialistic, totalitarian ideologies ! It’s all about power & controlling Americans every thought & move. Think about it, mental torture isn’t that far off ! To some degree it’s already entering some minds…
If Dear Leader can count jobs NOT LOST in his assessment of recovery, AARP should also add the members who didn’t join in their loss. Feel free to count my husband and I as losses in that case as we will never join.
We do have lots of fun with the many mailings they send. We fill them out in red with our honest opinions written as sarcastically as possible and then we send them back on their postage. Hope that helps.
Most seniors voted for McCain
That’s it, no #’s, no stats, no facts, nothing, but “most seniors voted for McCain” ! Well, we need to asterisk* this golden finger tip movement as the Keyboard “HIGHLIGHT” of the day ! Now that we’ve received the sports news update, we have one(1) answer to my orig-inal question line-up, “laziness” did enter into & make a difference in the ‘08 Prez election ! As I can tell ocmadam put a great deal of thought into their comment, & obviously w/o hesitation the same sincere thought process wasn’t eliminated Nov.4th,2008 ! 53% of electorate was 45 yrs young & older. 16% were 65 yrs or older & accnts for approx 21M of overall counted vote,you do the rest of the #’s when you get the energy! If it’s possible, try to concentrate on more than the Seasoned Citizens vote portion of the comment. Imagine sitting on something, placing 1 elbow on top of a knee, bow your head forward approx 45degrees & place 1 or 2 or more fingers against your Frontal (forehead), can you see the picture ? Okay, we’ll call this a “thinking” time out !

Your stuff is hard to read. Is this in Twitter style or something? I try to give all of the comments a fair read, but this it so poorly spaced and has some strange references that I am afraid you haven’t made a very effective point. May I suggest you relax, boil your response down to the most important two or three ideas, and then rewrite this in standard prose? You might have a point, I just can’t find it.
ocmadam has had many insightful comments here at IHateTheMedia, so I wouldn’t jump all over her. Plus, she can generally hold her own and I would never want to publicly eat crow .

Daniel, According to CNN, 53% of seniors (65 and over) voted for McCain. I would respond to you in more detail but I don’t have a Big Chief writing tablet with extra wide lines and a super fat pencil to communicate with you at your level.

AARP is just a money grabbing liars.the spokesman for them in Fla said the Medicare AdvantagePlans in Fla cost an average of 1100 plus dollars each month. H knows that is NOT true the average is only about 900 per month.
They, AARP is paid over 700 milion dollars from Companies like THE HARTFOR, Foremost an other companies to use there name not counting on all the people pay to join that rip off Company, they should be paying taxes on all the money they take in LIARS LIARS LIARS.

AARP has betrayed any trust retirees placed in them When the government can”t take care of social security because it is giving the money away to illeagle entrants into our country, when gthey can’t run an effective public school system, when prisons are a disaster why in the world would i want to turn over my healthcare?
AARP is the ultimate example of greed on the backs of the seniors they profess to represent. They continue to promote their posture as a non-profit while accepting money from insurance companies they allow to use the AARP name… they are one the most dishonest “senior non-profit” in our history and continue their journey of greed, lies, & misinformation while chasing a socialist agenda that promotes the Gov’t healthcare takeover which is bent on killing seniors to solve misguided policy and oversight. Seniors try the 60 Seniors Plus Association … at least they are for sale to ObaMoa…
