He IS the perfect example of children who have never learned to concentrate on anything for longer than 3 minutes and who think they know so much they needn’t listen to anyone else. Also the teachers push medcating the kids so they don’t have to deal. REAL ADD or ADHD children benefit from meds and therapies to teach them control and appropriate behavioural limits. I just don’t think every kid is ADD or ADHD. My son was repeatedly accused of being ADD. I ignored the teachers for a while, and finally thought maybe I and his counselor could be missing something. We had him tested and the Doc told us he definitely did NOT have ADD but was massively depressed because of the treatment he was receiving in school. He was started short term on antidepressants, and recommended to go to a recommended small private school with lots of support. I couldn’t afford the private school, but we tried to support him even more. He finally snapped that he wasn’t stupid *his IQ was estimated around 180* and he graduated fine, He has worked since before graduation and done vey well for himself

One of the women that sashayed through my life told me this story about her son: “When he was 13 he broke into a government computer somewhere and 3 men in black suits came to the house and explained to him that if he did it again, his momma was going to prison.” When he was smaller he had trouble in school and the doctors swore he had ADHD. My friend knew better and got him tested by a state organization that finally threw in the towel and said, “Mam, we really can’t test your son. His mind just works differently than most people’s.” When he reached 16, Air Force recruiters started to stop by to talk to the boy, but she did not want him going into the military. When he graduated from high school he got perfect SAT scores and a full scholarship to Duke. He wanted to go to a small college in the Appalachian mountains instead, and he became a cheerleader there. She was not a petite woman and she told me he she could stand on the palm of his hand and he could lift her over his head. During his freshman year the Air Force finally got to him, and when he signed up they tried to send him straight to Okinawa spy school, but he insisted on going through basic training like everyone else. “Now, when I ask him what he does he says, ‘Mom, If I told you what I do… I’d have to kill you’.” xxx I had lunch with Superman’s mom.

Perfect example of why trying to control kids with drugs is ruining our society. If she had let them drug this kid, he would have never reached his potential.

I absolutely agree . And yet we have parents that have made some very poor decisions to put their children at risk , going back to the same well to try to fix the problem , to get even more poison .

Many people who in the past have been defined as ‘brilliant’ would today be defined with some sort of mental disorder. Lincoln suffered from depression and went on to become one of the greatest presidents our nation has ever seen. Today, he would have been put on 16 different types of medication at age 12 then kill himself after he shot up a mall.

I think the difference between then and now is back in the day you had to work or starve. Today everything is suppose to be easy, ready, and convenient. Someone with even severe ADHD would probably bounce around from job to job until they found something they’re good at, then they’d probably excel at it. Today they have a problem and need to be medicated.

Einstien was actually identified as retarded. He didn’t talk at the usual age, literally couldn’t tie his shoelaces, and his parents were told he couldn’t learn. Some minds just work differently and don’t necessarily need to be medicated into oblivion.

My thoughts exactly. All this nonsense started in the 1960′s and the results are clear, kids who are doped up at a young age can have very violent tendencies. The scary part is now we see adults who were “treated” for ADHD having children who are being “treated” for ADHD. Who knows what the drugs did to the parents brain that may have been passed down to their kids? Now those kids are being doped up with the same drugs so who knows what may be happening to their minds?
