Al Gore rewrites history, London Times rewrites Al Gore

Al Gore's vision of global warming realists

Al Gore's vision of global warming realists

What is it with newspapers named “The Times?” No mater where they may be located, they seem to do whatever necessary to support liberals. Even the Times of London is now marching in lockstep with the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

Al Gore was in England last week to issue his latest doom and gloom proclamation. The Times of London first reported his speech this way:

Al Gore today compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.

Nazis? Global warming realists are now like Nazis?

Five hours later, the Times story had magically been rewritten, the comparison of global warming realists to Nazis had been removed, and Gore had been recast to appear much more statesman-like:

Al Gore invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill today by encouraging political leaders to follow the example of Britain’s wartime leader and unite their nations to fight climate change.

Where’d those global warming Nazis go? Probably off to kill a few polar bears.

I’m a conservative and a staunch non-believer in global warming / climate change or whatever you want to call it. I detest Al Gore. Having said that, it’s quite clear from the original text that he wasn’t calling global warming realists Nazis, rather was comparing the (phoney) struggle against global warming to the struggle against the Nazis; ie. that is was big and dangerous enough that the nations of the world need to band together to fight it. I say that’s nonsense, but that’s clearly all he meant to say.

When you take words out of context to create sensational headlines, you diminish your blog’s credibility and you really do all of us conservatives a disservice by making us look as loony as the Kos folks on the other side.

Thanks for your response.

“Al Gore today compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.”

Politicians and liars choose their words very carefully. There are many battles Gore could have chosen from for his comparison. There are other comparisons of countries coming together he could have chosen from. But he chose this one for a reason. And a man with a mediocre intelligence like Al Gore does not get to where he is today leading the global warming movement, with all the facts against him, with only one out of four (Rasmussen) saying he is a subject expert, without being very politically crafty and choosing each word carefully.

Note to that he did not choose to compare the global warming fight against a problem like poverty or disease or something like that. He choose to compare it to a battle against the PEOPLE, the Nazis, behind the problem (Germany’s expansion and “cleansing”). So, he is comparing some unnamed group of people of today, with the Nazis of yesterday. There is only one group that fits that bill: the global warming deniers. Us. You and me.

The “struggle against the Nazis” was a struggle against one of the worst evils the world has ever seen. There are few words, if any, that evoke such nauseating horror as the word Nazi. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing. And as with all leftists trying to sneak worldwide socialism through as we are busy with Michael Jackson, his words are purposefully not black and white, but strung together in such a manner as to insure there is wiggle room so that even someone such as yourself who does not buy his message might give him the benefit of the doubt.

So, in fact, there is no direct quote where Al Gore calls climate change deniers Nazis, is there?

But don’t let that stop the neo-con jackasses from getting all hot and bothered over another chance to play victim.

There is also no direct quote where Barack Obama admits he is a socialist either. But any thinking person knows he is.

It takes a higher level of intellectual capacity than you might have to think beyond direct quotes, put facts together, read between the lines, tell lies from truth, and to draw your logical conclusions.

Try your hand over at the DailyKos, it might be more suitable for you.

Do you have insurance? Socialist concept. Do you like the military, police and interstate roads? Socialist concept.

Your sad red baiting doesn’t change the fact that Gore was referring to a great struggle that will require a worldwide effort in order to motivate people clean up the environment. That your “intellectual capacity” is wasted inventing overwrought claims of victimization (Gore called us Nazis!) is not changed by your misdirection. Your need to constantly whine about being under attack by the mean old left is a tired as it is pathetic.

I think that is the funniest thing I’ve heard all year. The conservatives cry “victimization?” With that claim, you’ve discredited yourself completely. Yes, its conservatives that seek medicare, welfare, reparations, hate crime laws, socialized medicine, free cars, free cell phones, college speech codes, no income taxes for the lower 50%, gove mortgage payments, and on and on. We are most definitely the victims seeking restitution. Come on, Do you really think we are more stupid than you?

Thanks to the laugh, I’ll leave you for our readers to devour, if they don’t think you are a waste of time. I’m not suppoded to get involved in the comments; I’m always pissing off Editor doing this. But sometimes the targets are so incredibly big, I can’t help myself.

Readers…

Ohfergodssake! That’s freaking hilarious. All of those things existed long before “Socialism” (and Marx). Seriously, claiming them as “socialist concepts” is as silly as Arab “scholars” claiming the great men of the past (before Mohammed’s birth) were all Muslims. No, really, they were! How could they not be?

Next you’ll tell us that the Framers of the Constitution were “socialists”, too.

Modern-day Political Socialism, as defined by anyone not trying to muddy the waters, is a late-19th century European invention*, whose “success” in practice has been a decidedly mixed bag.

*unless you want to claim monarchism and feudalism as “socialist” – although, to be honest, many of our left-leaning fellows appear, for all intents, to be claiming something like a “divine right of kings”…

That’s the point, dispstick. You don’t use the term “socialism” to imply anything related to the actual use of the term. The fact that you believe “socialism” is a concept that didn’t exist until Marx started writing merely exposes your own ignorance. Throwing around “socialism” isn’t actually meant to convey information or get a cross and idea: the entire point of applying the moniker “socialist” to Obama is simply a code word to make sure that your like-minded ilk react with outrage and violence toward him. You wouldn’t’ know “socialism” if it bit you on the ass. Absolutely nothing about Obama comes close to resembling Marxism or Communism. Again, not that you’d know.

Next you’ll tell us that the Framers of the Constitution were “socialists”, too.

What would it matter? Your understanding of the Founding Fathers is probably no better than your grasp of English.

Really? You don’t read much, do you?

Yes, conservatives cry victimization. Constantly. Incessantly. It’s all they have. Or, for example, are Palin’s and her supporters non stop dripping and moaning about the supposedly unfair criticism from the evil mainstream media all a fabrication? Is the ridiculous Republican cries of “racist” concerning Sotomayer anything more than pathetic whining designed to convey the idea that a Supreme Court with Sotomayer on board will then turn the court into a bully pulpit to beat up on poor, hapless privileged old white men? Was the vicious mainstream media the one that magically made Iraq’s WMDs disappear just to embarrass Poor Georgy? Face it. every single time you use the moniker “mainstream media” you are either bitching about the scary thought that opposing viewpoints get aired, or you are moaning and dripping about how unfairly the “mainstream media” treats the right, which brings us back toooooooooooooooo…

The whole reason for this article, which is to fabricate a claim that right wing climate change deniers were called Nazis, and gosh your feelings are hurt yet again. Poor, poor pitiful you.
