‘Animal house of horrors’: Investigation reveals PETA killed nearly 2,000 shelter animals in 2013 alone. PETA = People Euthanizing Tiny Animals. Remember this next time one of their twits asks for a donation.

Alarming: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has a surprising track record at its Norfolk animal shelter. A survey revealed Wednesday that PETA kills an astonishing 82 percent of its animals

PETA: Killing animals for food and clothing is bad. Killing them for ne reason is good.

PETA says some of the animals are unadoptable and who is the judge of that?
Would their standards apply to the human race as well if PETA was the judge and jury?

Some animals are so ill, or so injured, that the only merciful thing to do s to euthanize them. But “not being adoptable” is a very vague term. Why not? Are they viscious? then yes, put them down. But maybe they are just too big, or they shed to much, or aren’t attractive enough. Is that reason to kill them? I would need LOTS more information on how those deicisions were made, and what criteria were used.

Standard procedure at non-PETA shelters is that any animal that isn’t quite young, or for some reason exceedingly cute, isn’t adoptable.

If you take in animals who no one else will place or help, of course the euthanasia rate is going to be high. It’s like complaining that a hospice has a high mortality rate.

PETA takes in the worst of the worst cases and offers a service to the community, which includes providing a peaceful, painless death to elderly, ailing, or injured companion animals. Many of the animals reflected in PETA’s animal care records were euthanized by request of their human companions. PETA routinely transfers highly adoptable animals to a local open-admission shelter so that those animals have a chance at finding a loving, permanent home.

Until people stop buying from breeders, dogs and cats will continue to die in large numbers.

If that’s what you want to believe then go ahead, but the SPCA takes in hurt and unadoptable animals without such a high kill rate, but then they don’t waste near as much money as PETA in politics. If the goal of PETA is to help animals then help them, but I believe the actual goal is to force others to conform to your beliefs.

PETA is NOT an organization that has compassion for animals. It is a political movement that hides behind compassion for animals.

And if the human owners are so retarded they want to kill their pet, why isn’t PETA intervening to save them? Afain.what makes a pet unadoptable? I have adopted pets with damaged limbs. care for my daughter’s rat by giving him lasix injections twice daily, bottle fed or dropper fed abandoned kittens. And I know others who specifically adopt cats with feline HIV. so as tp prevent their euthanization.

It’s hard to believe that PETA offers a service to the community when there are articles on the internet telling horror stories over the years.

I told this story once so I will skip to the end, if you really wanna piss off PETA members, find out where they are, Get a KFC lunch box, and eat it in front of them….and sit back and watch the smoke, it would be better if your were wearing a fur lined jacket at the time…….:)

I’m a little fuzzy on how killing unwanted shelter animals is ethical. Wouldn’t spaying / neutering them and letting them go be a bit more humane? Oh wait that costs money, and cuts into the administrative budget.
Fucking Hypocrites.

PETA are out of control: http://wavy.com/2014/11/12/man-claims-peta-stole-killed-family-pet/

Stole their pet, then came back with a fruit basket to tell them that the dog was euthanized?! The hell?! Why not even attempt to have the dog adopted? Then PETA nor these crazy ladies are going to be prosecuted?

This is insane!
