Anti-smoking fanatics want to require a smoking license. This might work out well for liberals. They inch us closer to the despotic government control to which they assiduously aspire, plus illegal aliens will have an ID they can use for voting.

Why don’t we start with licensing people before they reproduce. I notice way too many people who should’nt have kids, having kids.

This is true. But the only thing I can think of worse than some of the morons that are now reproducing, would be to have the government decide who can and who can’t. Now, if you let ME do the deciding,…………..

While we’re at it, how about licensing people before they can vote?
A little intelligence in the voting booth would be refreshing.

BTW, I’m an ex smoker, and don’t care if anyone else smokes, it’s their right.

I remember, & what did the states do with that money? Many of them wasted it on political wish lists that produced little of value.

And yes, ATF agents keep a close eye on growing your own for personal use, going as far as measuring the plot and counting plants. For tobacco. In America. Or what’s left of it.

Like all the taxes they already have on smokers isn’t enough of an incentive to quit? It’s another thinly veiled tax and control scheme, and they can kiss my ass.

This reminds me of an incident I witnessed a few days after California outlawed smoking in bars.

There was a big, hairy biker at the end of the bar, who pulled out a cigarette and lit up. Shortly, a small, brown-haired woman in a business dress approached him. Pulling a wallet out of her purse, she informed the big hairy guy that “I’m with the California Department of Health, and I’m afraid I’m going to have to cite you for unlawfully smoking in a bar. It’s against the law now, you know.”

Along with the rest of the patrons, I watched, amazed. My buddy suggested that the woman was “damned ballsey”, whereas I leaned towards “suicidally insane”.

The biker just looked at her for a moment. Then, taking a big drag, he blew smoke in her face and said “Lady, unless you got a hell of a big gun in that handbag, you ain’t gonna give me shit. Beat it.”

Squalling with outrage, the woman retreated, and soon left the bar – but only after threatening the owner with closure.

The biker finished his smoke, finished his beer, and was soon gone as well.

But his legend lives on.

Must be a real slow day in the land down under…..Try that here, it would be hilarious, instead of people being robbed for cash or jewelry, thugs would be grabbin’ your smokes and running, the brothers in the hood would be selling them outta their house….. Prohibition worked really well with illegal drugs and alcohol didn’t it?
