Voting information should be in a public database. The people should be able to access this information and determine voter fraud, deceased voters and illegitimate voters. If the people can not do this the the effect is legitimate rape of the the system of voting. Why is there so little talk of how the vote was rigged and there is no proof that votes are not as fictitious as made up followers on Twitter and Facebook that are designed by IT workers?
Controversial. What do you think?

Until the late 1800′s voting was done publicly using ‘open ballots’, many times oral votes were cast. The secrecy laws were passed to prevent voter intimidation and bribery at the polls (so the public was told). The laws centralized the production of the ballots and the counting of the votes to the state level. Taking the responsibility and accountability for the accuracy of the counts away from local scrutiny.
Now, being that the prevention of intimidation and bribery hasn’t worked out so well (black panthers, unions, employers), is it time to rethink the secret/closed ballot system? A few states have adopted the vote by mail (everyone is an absentee voter, still secret though) system, so you may vote from home. On the surface, it appears to help, however it opens a new can of worms with the verification of voters being almost impossible. And still leaves the counting at the state level.
At present, is there a better way? With finger print readers, voice recognition s/w, facial identification s/w and an internet connection, at the extreme ‘chipping/DNA samples’ for/from everyone, it may be possible. Will it be any better? Could it be any worse? The question as I see it, is how much invasion, actual or perceived, are we as individuals willing to accept into our lives? In other words, how ‘public’ do we really want to be? For me, I like my privacy too much to put my complete life online, don’t have or want a FB account. I don’t have the time to keep it all current and accurate anyway, let alone the ‘want’. That’s without taking into account the ‘hacking’, ‘identity theft’, ‘cyber-stalking’, ‘online bullying’, ‘viruses’ and other hazards associated with a completely open and fully utilized internet.
Or should we return to the old system of ‘open ballots’ with a ‘publicly counted written/oral vote’, all at the local level?
Just thoughts for you to ponder as you walk through our garden of reality.

Um, that’s a rather intemperate and unkind remark, there. Isn’t there also something about not judging others? I mean primarily the victims of the shooting, of course, but I don’t recall any particular boundaries in the original comment.

The theater shooting was in Colorado, not Arizona. Gabby Giffords assailant was originally pegged as a typical TEA party member by the wonderful sycophant lapdog media, just like they tried to do with the murderer in Colorado. In both cases, these perps were difficult for them to admit being left wing radicals, so they didn’t. As usual, they made it go away by ignoring it once it was no longer going to serve their needs.

I tried doing the Eastern circuit of faires. Florida booted my butt out, economically speaking. The permits required to operate a FREAKING ROCKING HORSE would have cost me thousands of dollars I didn’t have. Georgia was even worse. I came back to the left coast, where I just show up with my 4 million dollar liability policy, and I’m good to go.
I’d love to go sea kayaking again. I had a great time in San Diego, exploring the La Jolla caves.
