Armed citizens force officials to back down. The government wants gun confiscation so they can get away with whatever they want to, Constitution be damned. This is why gun owners need the 2nd Amendment, which seems to have worked as intended.

This is why the progressives, this time led by the Obama regime, want to disarm the people & take their guns away. When they say gun control, they really mean control over you. Never believe them, ever.

Push people around enough, they are going to stand up for their rights. Years ago liberals were all over the damn place demanding all kinds of bullshit rights, they got it, now they are demanding others loose their rights. Bullshit. I would love to see more people do this at meetings. Civil, well behaved an passionate. But then what I am afraid of is some idiot like this EX-LAPD nut case getting in with the people who are good and decent and giving Chicago Jesus and his horde of assholes another excuse to take away more of our rights. If you going to do this, know that there are law enforcement officers who will not get in the way of people who have a legal right to possess and carry weapons. The shitheads of the left will try but I will not be liable for a lawsuit for not upholding the constitution. That’s would be a violations of your right to bear arms, and as far as I and a lot of others are concerned the constitution wins over liberal idiots every day of the week.

Every lawman I know around here, state, county and local, feel the same way as you. I live in a very rural part of New Mexico so it is easier for our police, everybody knows everybody around here, to figure out who should and who should not be carrying a weapon but the idea is the same. They swear to protect the citizens and their rights, even if it means ignoring the idiots who try to take our rights away.

That’s all we can do, Unlike those idiots in D.C. We swore to uphold the constitution without crossing our fingers. Plus the fact it could be construed as an unlawful order to seize someones legal weapon, leaving us open to lawsuits for violation of constitutional rights. And every department I know of has a general order or directive that says we CAN disobey an unlawful order. I would be willing to be this happens soon somewhere and Eric “fast and Furious” Holder will be right there to prosecute the offending officer. Between a rock and a hard place, between a rock and a hard place…

“One citizen told the council that if the fact that citizens who are merely exercising their right to keep and bear arms intimidates city officials, then they need to look within to determine why the rights of the people are so intimidating to them.”

Bravo! *standing ovation*

Bravo is right! That is the kind of statement that you read about from history books! Like something our founding fathers would have uttered.

All comments here are spot on.

NEVER believe the BS that liberals are spewing about gun control… all this crap that ‘something must be done.’ The something they are talking about is total control. Total loss of freedom. Radical liberals abound in our government and they believe in statism, 100%.

Push people around long enough and there will be a revolt. These folks who did this are true Americans. If anybody tried this in NYC, they would enforce Marshall Law.

Damn right! Congrats to these people for standing up for themselves!
The regime needs to see this and realize that their agenda of disarming the populace won’t work, we will not go quietly!

I am just totally in the weeds! I have classes that just started, and some deadlines with my volunteering.. no time for anything. And I may be a straight woman, but I can appreciate T&A, so long as its not vulgar. A woman’s body is (or rather – CAN BE) a beautiful thing. I just prefer when most of it is covered. “Sexy, not slutty” is my motto!

The same thing was tried by the mayor in Ruidoso, New Mexico last year with the same results. The mayor and town council were forced to call a special meeting, City Hall was packed to the brim with gun toting citizens, and the local law did what they were supposed to do. Make sure the meeting stayed civil and nobody did anything to disrupt it. The gun ban didn’t last very long and I don’t think the mayor or most current members of the town council will be re-elected.

2 days ago between 3000-5000 people showed up in Annapolis to protest the Governors gun proposals. Of course, the Washington Post (which HAD to cover it) implied that is was about 200, but someone i know was there and said that the entire state house was filled to capacity, people were spilling out the doors and all over the grounds. Peaceful, of course, but there were a LOT of them.

I have said it before: the people who are willing to give up their guns have mostly been coerced to do so by now. What’s left is those of us who will be buried with our fingers on the trigger before we give them up willingly. Obama tried this too soon. About 2 more generations of mush-headed public school graduates, and they probably could have done it. But Obama is not a “party” guy. He wants the glory himself, and pushes thing that his team has been working on for 60 years sometimes. He thinks HE is gonna be the hero, but in this case it’s I think it’s just been “too soon”. Thank God.

St. Louis is s pit. That dude doesn’t look like he’s up to the task, so he’s already making excuses for his failure.

This may seem like a minor point, but it’s worth remembering. Our forefathers did NOT give us the right to bear arms in the constitution. The right to bear arms is inalienable. The constitution is to remind us of our right, and to tell the GOVERNMENT that they cannot interfere with this right.

The constitution or any other document can not TAKE this right from us. The government physically can, and is trying to, take our guns, but they can’t take our right to the guns. And thankfully there are a lot of motivated people who will not allow this to happen!

THIS is the reason for the 2A. NOT hunting, sporting, or whatever the government decides we are ALLOWED to use it for! An armed citizen is a FREE citizen. As goes 2A, so goes The Constitution. AMEN!

If guns are so bad, why are NRA rallies always more peaceful than union rallies?

I originally read that as unicorn rallies! I guess it fits, too.

So somebody thought they’d like to be a tyrant and discovered the real purpose behind the second amendment. Good luck to the city council in getting re-elected any time soon.
