Australian global warming prophecy goes wrong. Very, very wrong.

by editor on April 8, 2011

No matter where you go around the world, global warming shills repeatedly make fools of themselves with alarmist predictions that never come to pass. Now a particularly embarrassing one has come back to haunt the water department in Melbourne, Australia.

Some people knew it was a lie from the get-go

Back in 2009, Melbourne Water explained that there was no reason to invest in dams because:

“Why aren’t we building another dam? Our reservoirs need steady rain over days and weeks, to wet the ground and then generate runoff.

“Unfortunately, we cannot rely on this kind of rainfall like we used to.”

Of course, this frightening pronouncement was made at the depth of the worst drought to hit Australia in a century. Typical of the global warming hysterics, they decided that what was will always be.

Melbourne Water then followed the siren call of Al Gore and decided that what the Australian state of Victoria really needed was a $5.7 billion desalination plant instead of $1.4 billion dam. A dam, by the way, that would have provided three times the water of the desal plant at one-third of the cost.

How’s that working out, you might wonder, now that the drought has broken and Australia has had two consecutive years of historic rainfall and flooding? Melbourne’s The Age newspaper follows up:

AUSTRALIA’s biggest desalination plant, at Wonthaggi, is six to 12 months behind schedule, with cost over-runs and big financial penalties now threatening to deny the builder a return on the multibillion-dollar project…

Electrical Trades Union Victorian secretary Dean Mighell said that under the desal work schedule, 500 electricians should have been on site by last August… He agreed that heavy rain was the key cause of delays.

The ultimate irony: the desalination plant built because of drought has been delayed by heavy rain.

The Goracle strikes again.

Some day, SOON I hope, these global warming shills will be seen for the “Chicken Little’s” they truly are.

The global warming con artists need punishment, real punishment. Take their assets and put them in jail for a decade. Until there are real penalties for purposely or unknowingly f*cking up like this, it will only continue.

The excuse of I meant well can no longer be tolerated.

I remember something about the road to Hell, or failed moonbat utopia, is paved with something….

This same scenario happened with drought striken Santa Barbara back in the late 80′s and early 90′s. The amount of money that community wasted screwing around with their water issues could have bought them a desalinization plant several times over, over the time period they were trying to figure out what they should do about the drought. Nobody ever seems to look more than a few months into the future and they never revisit the good ideas of the past. As a result, they are always a day late and dollar $hort!

And up the coast past us to the north, Cambria voted to NOT allow the state water pipeline to connect and deliver water to them, so the libs living there could keep everyone else out. Now, the wait for a water meter to build a home is ten years.

And I believe they are now looking into desalination. I’m sure they would ask the state or the feds to pay for it.

I always thought that science and common sense would eventually end the Global Warming scam, but I was wrong. Turns out that time is doing the job. The more time that passes, the more the world gets to see how inaccurate the Global Warmists’ predictions are. We can now take a look at twenty and thirty year predictions by the climate modelers and, oh boy, those models were OFF.

I think that’s why the climate guys are refusing to make short-term predictions now. Now it’s all about predicting disaster fifty and a hundred years out. Pretty hard to prove them wrong on a hundred-year prediction, since they’ll be dead before the facts catch up.

I heard all this nonsense over 40 years ago only the mantra was man made pollution was causing global cooling. We were going to be in another iceage by the year 2000 if we did not change our ways. By the year 2000 we had changed our ways so much that we are now going to fry the planet. It was all a bunch of bullshit then, it’s all a bunch of bullshit now. Follow the money trail then, it is the same money trail now. The money goes to the politicians and their cronys and we everyday, working Americans, are getting screwed with a sandpaper prophylactic once again.

One thing I have noticed lately though, the clowns have changed their tactics. Since the “preventing globull warming” crap isn’t working they are changing their line to “preventing climate change”. Like man has any control over what Mother Nature decides to do. I think it is a good move on their part, it makes the arrogant asses sound even dumber that they did before.

Some nutcase has decided that the world is going to end on April 21 this year anyhow so we don’t need to worry about it!

Yeah, there’s billboards all over San Diego making that claim, one only a block from where I live. It says the Bible guarantees it, but there’s no reference to a scripture. I guess I should give that church everything I own, so I will absolved of my sins. The 21st is coming up fast.

It is a joke either by that website IHTM was talking about a few weeks ago, or it is just people fooling around.

I know that you are joking, but as a side note: Obviously Jesus is not going to give away the date of His return. There has to be an element of surprise. There will be those that will act like devils up to the 20th and then “repent” and ask for Christ to forgive them on the 21st. There is no justice in that. Giving your money to any church building regardless of the date being for real or not is not going to absolve you of any sins.

That’s May 21st, but don’t believe it because Jesus Himself said…

No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:36 NIV
