Was it Photoshop or divine intervention?

by editor on March 15, 2010

Anyone else think this photo that ran in the New York Times article, As Health Vote Awaits, Future of a Presidency Waits, Too, might have had a teensy weensy bit of ever-so-slightly biased Photoshop work? Or was it simply divine intervention?

Yep. Cheesy Photoshop work. I don’t know why they don’t just drop all pretense and nail him to a cross.

Unlike Jesus though this “savior” doesn’t want to be crucified, nor take on the sins and transgressions of others, nor accept blame. He just wants the adoration/worship and love. What is gross is that they are willing to use religious symbols important for a great part of the society for their own benefit, BUT they would be the first one to shout separation of church and state every time there is an inkling of religiosity in politics. Hypocrisy much?

KimmyQueen, in keeping with the NYT’s apparent religious fervor, all I can say to your post is, “Amen!”

All these doctored theo-political photos of Obama point to what might be classified as a revival. Watch out for the offerings and altar calls these politi-vangelists have.

Ahhh… here is the crux of the problem. You don’t like to be judged nor having people criticize you, because you want to be able to do whatever you want to do without recriminations. That is your issue. I really don’t care, but that has nothing to do with me.

As for me being a Christian. believe it or not, I can be both a Christian and a citizen of this country. Not only that I can also be a consumer. Imagine that. You don’t want to talk about the right of speech, because you want to separate me into a category and then JUDGE me when I make the call to be many things at once. Which is interesting.

I am called to be critical of those who I believe in my heart and soul are doing damage to me, to my family and the community and nation in general. I can also be critical of manipulators and people who bend the truth to suit their needs. If you don’t believe it then pick up the epistles especially of Paul and start reading.

Not only is it my call, but also my right as a citizen of this country AND as a consumer. As a consumer I do not appreciate being manipulated by the NYT, trying to use imagery that I will recognize to manipulate how I feel about a person that I believe in my heart and soul is destroying this country.

So basically you believe that Christians are supposed to not say anything, not get involved? Is that what you are trying to say? Whatever the case, again you misused a word to suit your agenda, but it is not going to work. You know that criticizing someone in earnest is not the same as misjudging people.

If I don’t have the right to execute my right of freedom of speech regardless of philosophy or believe I pursue, then what is the point of being a citizen of this country that both protects my right to pursue my own philosophy of life AND the right to express myself accordingly? You cannot have it where I can only be a christian AND NOT have the right to express myself accordingly when I see something that I can be critical of. In this case photo manipulation.

How would you like it if I said that to you? that you cannot be who you are as a person AND not engage as a citizen of your country (as a consumer)? It doesn’t make sense. You want to be able to criticize which is what you are doing to me, but you don’t want someone else who doesn’t follow your ways of life to do it?

Everyone must have a critic ESPECIALLY when they are not doing things as they should or they are not listening to the voice of the majority. Are you sincerely going to sit there and tell me that Jesus never criticized a group of people for their wrongdoing? Yes He made it clear that we have to be careful in our judgements or else they can become misjudgements, but that is to alert people to hypocrisy so we can live right. However, He was very aware that people had to be critical of others for correction. There is a difference.

Example: You cannot just let a child do whatever he or she wants. You may not/shouldnt result to violence to change a child’s ways nor use judgement as a weapon against the child, but you certainly can and should correct the child appropriately. You know what is wrong and what is right and you use critical judgement to discern what is wrong and what is right in the behavior of your child and then with the correct attitude correct the child. That is how it is supposed to go anyway.

He is the President he works for me. I don’t work for him. If he has something to tell me about my behavior he can, however he doesn’t have the right to do whatever he wants regardless for how I feel about it.

Also going back to THE POINT. NYT had spewed many times about separation of church and state. Using religious imagery to promote a person and the person’s ideologies is hypocritical. Also the NYT is A NEWSPAPER. Newspapers aren’t supposed to promote a person or the person’s idelogies in fact newspapers are supposed to be critical and judgemental to examine a person’s behavior and how that will affect the country overall. They are supposed to look at both sides of the story, not manipulate one side to suit their needs. If you cannot see the POINT then I cannot help you. This whole side thing you are going on about is not the point, it is a distraction to not see the point.

Unfortunately it happens a lot. I am sure the following is something a lot of Christians can relate to: There are so many people that mistreat me and when I answer back they have the nerve to ask me why don’t I give them the other cheek? Meaning that in their minds Christians are doormats, punching bags and/or masochists. We are there to be punished and mistreated, but we are not there to answer back or to seek justice or to ask for respect. We can be dumped on, but we are third class citizens who have no right to talk back. That is evil and disgusting.

Just because I am asked to be meek IT IS NOT a free invitation for people to mistreat me. Yes I do have to forgive, but there is a caveat that people ALWAYS miss: The person that does the damage has to ask for forgiveness. Yes I am asked to give the other cheek, but it is FAR better for the person not to hurt me in the first place, or to SEEK to FURTHER hurt me in the hopes that I don’t hurt them back. That is the mark of an evil person also a coward as they probably wouldn’t do that to a Muslim. I am not under any obligation to forgive the person if the person does not want forgiveness HOWEVER I must not seek to AVENGE myself against the person, but with that said it doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t seek justice/respect or to tell the person where they have gone wrong either. So if a person does hurt me or disrespects me and doesn’t apologize or seeks to make amends I am free to not absolve them of their issues. I can and should forgive them for MY OWN peace of mind not theirs, not seek revenge and I am also free to seek justice/respect. I am also free to tell the person what is what and to move on if the person is not willing to provide respect and not go back to and deal with the person who is there only to hurt and humiliate.

So, just because a person is a Christian, they’re not supposed to be upset, or they don’t have the right to call someone on it, when they’re lied to? Is that what you’re trying to say? Hmmmmmmm?

If so, then you’re saying that Kimmy has no right, and if overstepping her boundaries, to be upset that she’s been lied to. So what about me? I’m not a Christian, so I guess I’m only upset because I’m a heathen, and it’s a heathen’s right to be upset. The Christian is supposed to turn the other cheek, but I have no such restrictions placed on me. Ok, I feel like I’m starting to ramble. Never mind.

It is really disgusting that the Times wants to present him as angelic. The guy is satan, not a savior. This is funny, and disturbing all at once, as is most “journalism” surrounding this disgrace of a “president”.

I was talking about the halo around his head-not the medical cross….however the NYT secularists were absolutely going for a christian cross, and an angelic halo-if you don’t realize that Red, you should look again.
They are all about disparaging Christians, Jews, anyone who believes in God, save Muslims, whom they hold in great esteem!

As someone who works in Photoshop regularly, there is no way this is not created artificially. If it were lighting from the background, the cross pattern would not overlay the body. Plus where did the White House image magically appear in the foreground.

As of today, 3/15, after I saw his Ohio campaign stop, I’ve changed my response to anyone who asks how I feel about our glorious leader. I generally would react that I didn’t like the policies and the spending. But after hearing him say that the $500 billion cut in Medicare to fund his new healthcare program would rescue Medicare, my reaction is now simpler… “He’s a lying MF!”

It obviously a cross and some minor halo bloom effect around the head of the Dumba*s in Chief who we know as our POTUS.

That said… Was this meant to tug at the hearts of all who see it to have some grand injection of emotion take hold and have the masses break down and cry for salvation from the the Great Obama? If that was the aim then… Major Fail NY Times!

I think this was digitally altered. Poorly at that. No jokes that I am surprised he has a cross behind him and not a half moon and scimitar behind him instead today; I will say that I rank this up there with images of religious figures that are ‘seen’ grilled cheese sandwiches. Best left for those who find coded messages in oil stains in parking lots.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia

Honestly NY Times, most humans are not that gullible. A picture might be worth a thousand words, yet Obama’s teleprompter can scroll a thousand words a minute. Anyone who has heard Barry’s grand vision of the Socialist States of Amerika from his orations can cut the crap and know that he is a shi*ty leader.

One Photoshopped image vs all the nonsense found in Barry’s performance record? Put both on the scales and it is not even close- the BS from Obama is more telling then some doctored photo.

That is the truth. Pretty as a picture isn’t it?

Showbama is the anti-christ if ever there were to be one. Since the man took office we’ve had massive sink holes all over the country, more storms and disasters here and world over in many years. It’s either that or he wants the title King showbama… when will Americans get their heads out of their rears, stand up and remind everyone what being American means?
