BBC to show movie made by chimpanzees. Can MSNBC be far behind?

The once much-revered British Broadcasting Corporation has not only gone to the dogs, it’s now gone ape.

The world’s first film shot entirely by chimpanzees is to be broadcast by the BBC as part of a natural history documentary.

The apes created the movie using a specially designed chimp-proof camera given to them by primatologists.

The film-making exercise is part of a scientific study into how chimpanzees perceive the world and each other.

It will be screened within the Natural World programme “Chimpcam” shown on BBC Two at 2000GMT on Wednesday 27 January.

Making the movie was the brainchild of primatologist Ms Betsy Herrelko, who is studying for a PhD in primate behaviour at the University of Stirling, UK.

Ratings-challenged MSNBC is reportedly in negotiations to give the chimps their own nightly primetime show, although industry experts say the primates may be too intelligent to fit in with the rest of the network’s programming.

Wait, MSNBC isn’t already run by chimps? Then again, it’s not surprising seeing as the chimps are smarter. At least MSNBC has better cameramen.

I don’t believe Jay that any of them could get a dog to allow them to pet it-or any animal for that matter-so that is probably never going to happen. I was kind of hoping they get herpes myself.

Very funny Matthew.. enjoyed it BUT, I assure you, BHO has no conscience and since he will give us the State of the Union that’s full of more compulsive lies and expendient smooth talk.

“although industry experts say the primates may be too intelligent to fit in with the rest of the network’s programming.”

Indeed…

Wow this is not necessarily a bad idea to have chimps play around with cameras so you can see what they do with it, etc. I just hope UK citizens are not paying for that.

I actually thought that BBC was merely attempting to emulate MSNBC, so now I’m confused. Isn’t MSNBC already completely staffed by monkey’s? On the rare occasion I watch the channel..purely for the amusement factor…that seems to be all I see or hear. No, wait…chimps are smarter after all.

I noticed in watching the BBC clip, that not a single monkey endorsed Obama, or blamed everything on “teabaggers.” So it’s monkeys-1, MSNBC-0. The monkeys are much more accurate in their news reporting than MSNBC.

IPCC should sign the chimps on,they could make a far more believable film of climate change, probably more truthful too ,BBC take note.
