With Barack Obama hogging the limelight, Bill Clinton’s been feeling kind of neglected lately. So he decided to say something guaranteed to get himself back in the headlines.
The former president appeared on NBC’s Today Show on Monday morning, where the sycophantic Ann Curry asked if the economic crisis is the greatest threat facing the United States.
“In the short run,” Clinton rasped. “In the medium-term, because I think we’ll come out of the economic crisis, terror and the spread of weapons of mass destruction are. In the long term, the prospect that the climate will crater and we won’t be able to preserve civilization is.”
This is actually good news. It’s like a reprieve. We were afraid civilization had ended back when Al Franken announced his candidacy.
