Black Americans still love the nation’s second black president, but their enthusiasm has fallen from the lofty levels The One once enjoyed. The damning line from this survey is that “the thrill is gone.”
The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey reveals the demagogic details:
More than nine in 10 blacks questioned in the poll approve of the job Obama’s doing in the White House, far higher than 42 percent of whites who approve of his performance as president.
But when asked how they personally feel about Obama’s presidency, only 42 percent of black respondents say they’re thrilled, with nearly half of those questioned saying they are happy but not thrilled.
The 42 percent who are thrilled is down from 61 percent in January, when Obama was inaugurated.
“African-Americans are still big fans of the first black president in U.S. history, but the thrill is gone,” said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.
Thrilled? This is undoubtedly the first time in history that pollsters have asked the question, “Are you still thrilled with the President?”

The really sad thing about this report and the subsequent results, are that most black Americans voted for this “president” BECAUSE he is black, and for no other reason. For the most part, I would venture to say that most blacks do not pay attention to the news, to reality on much of any level, and most have little to no concept of economics, much less their own history. Now, before I get flamed, this is NOT a negative racial comment on any level, it is just simply fact.
I live and work in DC, and I have many friends that are black, well educated, with good, well paying jobs….most of these friends did not vote for obama, and the ones that did, have substantial buyers remorse. A few of them are truly angry at their own American Black Culture, due to the simple fact that most blacks do not know anything about the Civil Rights Movement and who were and were not their friends during those tumultuous times….and they realize it was NOT the democrat/liberals….especially in the South. And two of them feel that this whole “new” administration and conceptual ideology/policies of obama and liberalism is nothing more the newest form of slavery…
Point is, I guess, is that this report is not unexpected….sad, but not unexpected. It really is too bad that so many blacks don’t realize that liberals don’t really care about them, have nothing but contempt for them, and pray on their ignorance of reality….
Charles, I can only say that much of what you said about Blacks also applies to my demographic: women. While there are many of us who follow the news, have studied politics, understand this president and his intent, there are also a majority who choose to be duped. Only about 3% of us ever really know what is going on anyway.
I too work in a very liberal industry and town and have seen some “Come to Jesus” moments with my peers. The tide will turn, the question is will it be in time.

Personally, and fourtunately, I do not work in a liberal faction of DC, I work with the only REAL people that REALLY count and have for many years…the same ones that are completely disillusioned by what is happening around them…the ones constantly under attack from the left…the ones that provide for the very freedoms we have as a country…the ones the left loves to denigrate but would whine all the way to the gulags should it end that way if they aren’t there. And, it sickens me to no end.
Fortunately, Dee, I personally believe the liberal lemmings to be the minority, as can be seen from the vast number of polls….both pro and con obama. The only reason that obama won the election, is not because of the black vote or the children’s vote, but due to the independent vote, which is running as fast as they can from this unequivocally and undeniably socialism/marxism inspired president… and seeing their rights and liberties under attack. Anyone that disagrees with anything we (collectively you and I) have stated here, is simply dillusional. And for me to know they are and to have to call my fellow Americans dillusional, is terribly saddening.
As you state, it is now up to us to make sure this can never happen again…by making sure we preach the gospel (figuratively speaking) to everyone we can, that we know are watching the simpsons as opposed to paying attention to what the heck is going on…

Sadly Blacks tend to rally behind other blacks no matter what. Look at how blacks rallied behind Rodney King and OJ Simpson for example. In their eyes Obama basically can do no wrong. That’s just the way it is…
You are generalizing. I am Black and I dont nor didnt rally to Obama’s side nor OJ’s side as far as Rodney King HE WAS beaten mercilessly by cops…
Wow are you thrilled with the president…? the question itself lends to a variety of disgustingness. Voting for someone becasue of the thrill of it is very irresponsible. voting for someone becuase of his color of skin is in direct contrast to what Martin Luther King Jr. said someone that is supposedly a Black American icon. Am I suprised that black people who voted for Obama are less than thrilled? No. It was bound to happen. Just the knowledge that was their primary care is revolting.

Would you all please quit referring to our president as black. He is NOT black.
He is a half breed, mixed, not of one race. His skin just happens to be dark, it could just as easily been way lighter. What then?
