Boy Scouts about to end ban on gay leaders. Because, let’s face it, the man we want camping in the woods with our son is the guy most likely to be sexually attracted to him.

Whatever happened to common sense? A classic Christian teaching is to avoid occasions of temptation which may result in a person giving in to a predominant weakness he or she has. The American Heritage Girls are a Christian/conservative version of the Girl Scouts who some say have been drifting to the left. I guess the Boy Scouts will need one now.

Common sense is exactly how I see it. Because we have common sense we don’t make men Girl Scout leaders and send them into the woods with our daughters. This doesn’t mean we think any of the fathers in our neighborhood would rape a little girl, but we have common sense!

That’s right… In girl scouts, fathers are NOT allowed to camp in the same area of the camp ground as their daughters and the other girls. And NO adult is allowed to have “one on one” time with any child in either the boy or girl scouts. Another adult must be present at all times.

My wife and I are very active with our youngest two sons in scouts . We were very active with our three older sons in the past . I was a scout for most of my younger years .

If this passes in our local council , we will walk out the door . We live in an area where there aren’t many fathers active in their children’s lives . No support , no structure , mostly drugs and ruined lives as a lasting legacy . We have sponsored and supported many of these boys . The scouts are not the greatest thing to happen in life , but for most of the boys in our neighborhood , who are in scouts , its the only structure for good in their lives .

I realize there are Homosexuals here , on these boards , that believe in their hearts that the world would be a better place with my wife and I and others like us , out of scouts and others like themselves orchestrating the feast .

If the Scouts fall to this madness , then so be it . It will be a sad , sad day . But in the world of the Homosexuals , Fresh Meat .

I don’t make the assumption that all homosexuals are also pedophiles, any more than I think all heterosexuals are pedophiles. I just feel hold a gay man up to teens in particular as a routine lifestyle is inappropriate and a lie. I don’t remember the exact statistic, but I believe its something like 3-5 of the population identify as homosexuals. And that doesn’t even include those who claim to be straight, but are in reality bisexual. The Boy Scout aim is to develop young men into good citizens, productive members of society who have a strong sense of morality. This seems to fly in the face of that goal. Lord Baden-Powell is rolling over in his grave.

That’s what cranks me off about most (if not all) of the gay agenda: It’s utterly INCOMPREHENSIBLE to them that maybe they should just go away and do their own thing. In their minds, there cannot be one thing left standing that doesn’t agree with them 100%.

And even when same sex couples do reproduce, they must witness to nature. Lesbians need a sperm donor and homosexuals need a surrogate mother, a surrogate womb.

You can all get mad at me but considering all the child molesters the BSA has been hiding all these years the gays might be an improvement. Gays aren’t all child molesters and at least you will be able to spot them, not to mention they generally won’t be bothering your kids.

A phrase like “all the child molestors the BSA has been hiding all these years” probably needs some documentation. And keep in mind that Boy Scouts are pre-teens and teenagers, not babies and toddlers, so anybody who rapes them is by definition gay, not a pedophile. (Pedophilia stops at age 11, when Boy Scouts begins, and the younger scouts are not the ones headed into the deep woods with adult leaders – that would be the older scouts, the young men gays love to recruit.)

I also can’t fathom where you get 11 at. Legally you’re considered a child molester up to the age of consent, which does vary state by state.

Is some straight bubba in Arkansas any more offensive marrying his 14 year old 3rd cousin? I think not.

Is some straight female school teacher humping a 14 year old school boy any less offensive? I think not.

Is some straight Muslim marrying some 9 year old girl any less offensive? I think not.

The reality is the crime is offensive regardless who’s doing it.

CO2, I’m with you. There is a big difference between gay men and pedophiles. I have several gay friends, and they are as disgusted with pedophiles as any of us are.
I understand everyone elses feelings about this because they don’t have a way to tell who is who, so it is still a threat, but I wish everyone could understand the difference.

I live in the gay capitol of the free world. I have gay friends, I do business with gays, in fact my wife and my best friend is gay. They all hate pedophiles, too. (By the way my wife is indeed female and no I don’t switch hit either).

My main point is anyone can be a pedophile. Men, women, gay, lesbian, priest, police chiefs, judges, lawyers, even Indian chiefs. You just can’t ever tell and there’s no pigeonhole you can put them all in. You can’t even say all male pedophiles are gay because some of them go for the little girls and vice versa for the women who go for the little boys.

My second point is it’s BS for the Boy Scouts or the Catholic Church, or any other institution to cover this stuff up. That is an equally bad abuse and certainly an appalling abuse of power.

Again, it’s not pedophilia when you want a teenager. It’s sick, and illegal, but not pedophilia. And the fact that some people don’t have the self-discipline to avoid sex with teenagers is why we don’t send adults off into the woods with the gender they desire. Duh. It’s so bloomin’ common sensical I can’t really believe we have to talk about it.

Karmaa January 29, 2013 at 4:18 am

I agree JP. I remember being a teenager and having a friend who was unsure if he was gay or not. My daughter had a similar situation with a friend as well. And, most of the data I have seen suggests that large numbers of hetero men had homosexual thoughts or quasi-gay encounters as boys or teens. It seems to me that we should not be shoving vulnerable, confused young men into environments with predators.

And before anyone attacks me for saying predators, consider THIS: WHY would a gay man want to be involved in scouts? Chances are good that (at least at this point) he does not have a son in the program. So, what’s his motivation? We know that teens and young men are highly desirable to many gays, so is it really that hard to imagine that predators, looking for susceptible, vulnerable, confused young men would go to a veritable FOUNTAIN of them? With the added bonus of no pesky females to have to work around.

It’s just not smart. As parents and as society, we need to protect our children, even when they are teens. We can’t watch then 24/7, but the least we can do is protect them from people who demand that everyone KNOW who they sleep with, and demand that we tolerate it.

Common sense suggests this: if you’re a gay man, volunteer to go camping with the Girl Scouts, not the Boy Scouts. If you’re a gay man with a son, oh well. That’s life. For the same reason I accepted that I wasn’t going to participate in Girl Scouts with my daughters, gay men should accept that they are not going to participate with their sons in Boy Scouts.

Your link has a salacious headline but the meat of the article cites 100 cases. That’s it. From an organization that has had 110 million members. 11 divided by 110 million is .00009%. The incidence in the general population is between 5% and 15% (for boys). And of that 100, it looks like the LATimes took the most liberal definition possible of what might be called a “coverup.” The Boy Scouts are not set up to investigate sex crimes, and the proper people for deciding whether something needs to be reported to the police is the parents, not the frickin’ Boy Scouts. I would be pissed if the Boy Scouts reported something about my kid – that’s my decision to make. I might decide to secretly kill the bastard rather than report him to the police.
I understand that homosexuals recruit young men and many people don’t want to admit that. It’s not politically correct to contemplate. By the way, I get that information from sources in the gay community itself, not from my imagination.
As for definitions, “child molester” is a legal and pejorative term, pedophile is a psychological term. Older adults who want teenagers (like Boy Scouts for instance) are not considered pedophiles and are going to want whatever gender their sexual inclination normally desires. Gay men are going to look at an attactive boy and go, “Wow!” just like a heterosexual man looks at an attractive teenage girl and goes “Wow!” They both might say, “I shouldn’t like this because of the age,” but at least the heterosexual man is smart enough to not go camping with that teenage girl.

You are seeing the ones that at least got reported to the Boy Scouts. Let’s remember that it has only been in the last couple of decades that reporting this has become more common. Many children of both sexes have been molested over the years and told NO ONE, not their parents, not their best friend, and certainly not the police. And those that did were stigmatized as liars in most cases, especially if the predator was viewed positively by the community. I absolutely believe that some of the kids to did outcry were shut up and the situation covered up because of the loss of face for the child, the families, the predator and the organization. Just like teachers sleeping with students is not really new, just more reported now.

Regardles of what name you put to it, they can be predators. But I do believe that some of the past leaders of the Boy Scouts were likely gay, justnot”out” as well as some pedophiles who hid their revolting preferences to have access to the boys. Any problems would have been dealt with within the District and kept veeeery quiet.

About 20% of the abuse in the Catholic Church could be described as pedophilia. But about 80% of it was homosexual priests preying on teenage boys. That the leftists insist that there is no homosexual component in such cases defies common sense.

I happened to catch a little bit of a movie entitled “Night Listener” last night. Robin Williams played a man who befriends a boy who had been sexually abused by men. Williams’ character insisted that the abusers were straight because they peppered the boy with homosexual slurs during the abuse. I just have a hard time believing that a male who sexually abuses a male isn’t at least bisexual, if not largely homosexual. Maybe some of them like women too, but you’ll never convince me they’re totally straight.

My former wife managed a salon that was owned and populated with gays. Fun bunch. I enjoyed their company and the haircuts and I never minced words about how I felt about their lifestyle. (Once in a while they’d get pissed and give me a bad haircut, but usually they disagreed amicably. Thankfully I’m not the kind of guy who is overly concerned about my haircuts.) But I was startled by how many of them had a gay priest story in their background. I didn’t know whether to not believe them like maybe having a gay priest story was cool so they made it up, or start thinking that the priesthood is full of gays. Later I learned that the latter is the correct answer. I’ve read articles by heterosexual priests who claim that Catholic seminaries are riddled with gays and they drive hetero priest wannabes right out of the profession. The Catholic hierarchy knows they have a problem at the seminary level, but it’s tough to solve because even in Rome (or especially in Rome maybe) there is a large gay contingent who don’t want to solve the problem.

The Catholic church unintentionally created the perfect lair for gays. No one questions an adult male PRIEST hanging out with kids. In fact, espectially in the past, the more personal the relationship, the more honored the family felt, never imagining that a priest of the church could so abuse their children. If an unmarried male in his 30′s started hanging with kids all the time, the parents would put a stop to it pretty quickly.

The girl scouts did this some time ago, and they’ve become more a left wing organization than a character building experience for girls. I don’t see why the BSA would end up any different.

“Unfortunate” doesn’t cover it! I volunteer with disadvantaged children and nearly every one has been sexually abused at some point in their short lives. These poor kids are essentially ruined. A few still have a spark somewhere inside and those are the ones who may be salvageable, but these pedophiles destroy humans as much as abortionists do.

I know gay does not equal pedophile, but I have been around a while, and I can imagine that it’s next. Once upon a time (not THAT long ago) people would never EVER have believed that homosexuals could become mainstream. So, to think that pedophilia could never become a “lifestyle choice” is short-sighted.

And I discussed this with some friends about 5 years ago. My position was that homosexuality was considered and abberation for a mightly long time, and now they wanted to be legitimized. I said then that it was a slippery slope, because the next thing would be trying to convince everyone that pedophilia was just a “alternative lifestyle” and no wrong at all. And here we are. My child was molested. I am here to tell you she wasn’t forced at gunpoint, though was forced by manipulation and promises to tell no one. She is in her early 30′s and STILL has issues. She panics if she sees someone out of the corner of her eye that resembles her attacker. She has a wonderful husband who has helped her develop a more normal response to physical interaction, but is still convinced she cannot get pregnant, even with IVF because of something the attacker did to her. Yeah, it DOES hurt the child and is definitely not good for them.

“On the afternoon of Aug. 10, 1965, a distraught Louisiana mother walked into the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office. A 31-year-old scoutmaster, she told the chief criminal deputy, had raped one of her sons and molested two others. Six days later, the scoutmaster sat down in the same station and confessed. “I don’t know an explanation, why we done it or I done it or wanted to do it or anything else it just — an impulse I guess or something,” the man told a sheriff’s deputy. The decision was made not to pursue charges.”,/i>

Notice that it was the police who didn’t pursue charges, yet this is an example cited of how the Boy Scouts covered things up. See what I mean? The left has chosen a meme and they’re going all out to sell that meme to the public. The gays aimed their guns at the Boy Scouts and the propaganda became overwhelming.

That’s from YOUR link! Not MY citation. It’s the example from the article you linked. THAT‘s the example they use of the Boy Scouts covering up sex abuse, a case that went to the police and the police didn’t press charges.

There are many reasons why charges aren’t brought in these kinds of cases. Often the parents don’t want their child traumatized anymore than he already is, or they don’t want him stigmatized by the publicity. If only fondling was involved, how do you prove something happened? And like I said before, the Boy Scouts are not set up to investigate sexual abuse so blaming them for cases that didn’t get prosecuted seems farfetched. The Gay Mafia got the BSA in their sights for political reasons and went after them, and the spate of articles accusing the BSA of covering up sex abuse was the result. What’s ironic is that the result is a decision that will risk more sexual abuse.

I just watched a movie that was subtitled “Grinding America Down”, and this is a total indication of that. HOW can a conservative, private organization be strong-armed into accepting something so against their beliefs and down-right common sense, just to appease a small group of screaming lunatics?

Grinding away, chipping away… whatever we call it. Make no mistake – it has been methodically and deliberately foisted on us, and most Americans are too stupid and self-absorbed to see what is happening. Not that they can be blamed – they are pawns (useful idiots as Marx called them) who have been essentially brainwashed by the “progressives” (Socialist/communist/liberals) to do their bidding. Essentially high paid slaves.

It is no longer a conspiracy theory to me. There is SO MUCH evidence out there. The internet has made this clear. The problem is that this is such a huge spiderweb of deceit that it is almost impossible to catalog. The scandals overlap each other to the point that it is almost impossible to stay on track. It’s getting really darned scary.

All that said – I really don’t care personally about gays. I am essentially Libertarian, so I feel like people have the right to choose their lifestyle, no matter what others think about it. BUT, in the same vein, people and organizations have the right to say “nope – we don’t want to accept your lifestyle”. Just as they can (or should be able to) exclude felons, drug addicts, or devil worshippers, they should be able to exclude gays. If the families that support BSA don’t agree, then THEY can petition the group, or remove their children from the program. That’s how society is supposed to work.

Sure we are for personal liberties, you have the personal liberty to come here and be an annoying little pissant. Some one else used their personal liberty to look up public records and out you.

You don’t get it do you, when you play on the web the information compiled is public. He did not include your web information or ISP so what are you complaining about? Your mommy can get the same information, so can Ron Paul…you’ve probably been googled by employers when you TRIED to get a job, perhaps that’s why you don’t have a job….Purchases and websites are public….the only invasion of privacy is in your mind doofus….

Here I got you Ron Paul’s phone number so you can call and complain…1-800 Eat Crap. By the way when I called they apparently have your phone number blocked so you’ll have to go to a pay phone…

You have no right to the expectation of privacy on a message board. You put yourself out there and a simple search yielded that information within a few clicks. Ahahahahaha!

seriously?, what idiot thinks there is “privacy” on the net? It’s a public domain. If you want something kept private, don’t put it on the web.

Its not your personal property after you post it online. Like anyone can pull stuff out of your trash and publish it and you can’t do a thing. While you’re fuming, perhaps you could read the statutes in your state that explain that.

You asked for it numbnuts, you show up here day after day with your insane bullshit and cocky attitude, looks like someone called your bluff welfare boy..All that shopping on the welfare dime? That kinda makes you a lying sack of dog crap. looks like little Creepy Crowley got his self a regular scam going..and if anyone should be worried, it should be you, looks like your spending more than you take in, plus you go visit scam websites? Is that how you make your money little boy? Funny how butthurt you are about information that FREELY available on the Worldwide Web, since you use the same name all the time you can be tracked..and surprise, surprise to quote Gomer Pyle, there’s no visits listed to any Ron Paul Website….another lie? probably…before you start bitching and crying and whining, remember your whole life is out there…all the lies exposed… and the best part, I am telling on you….screw you junior and the horse you rode in on….You got a life lesson from someone who is tired of your bullshit, and if I could give him 100 thumbs up I would, you see he has honor, integrity and honesty, all basic skills your sorry little ass lacks…Have a nice day shopping butthead.

Besides, you should be ashamed to be living with your parents where they have limited income (hence the qualification for the family food stamps) while you blow hundreds on crap. Give some of that money to your parents as rent and grocery and utility payments.

By the way you can report welfare fraud anonymously to your nearest federal welfare/social security office..His webname would be enough for their investigators to go on…..They like to find and make examples of cheaters who scam the system…just find an office on the web near that “giant arch” and fire off a letter….and wait for the fun to begin….

I almost forgot, I got lots of time to expend bothering you, I don’t don’t shop on e-bay, collect welfare, or spend time at gaming and scam websites….I am here just to harass you. Everybody needs a goal in life, Mine is fighting stupidity wherever I find it, and I FOUND IT…..

A large amount of websites are like that, you need to read their terms and conditions or read that little box that says agree or disagree, accept or cancel, before you go any further. At the very least use different names, passwords, and even ISP addresses. It prevents you from becoming an identity theft victim too. There is today’s public service announcement…:)

Its 150% of the pverty level and I make just over that now with my big $13 a month COLA raise. And I can’t afford game systems and coin collections and such. Of course I pay rent, groceries, utilities and medical bills and prescription med bills. You are a little weasel who thinks you deserve a 6 figure lifestyle, right away, before earning it. Like the occupoopers who hate rich people but had their $1000 dollar laptops (and God know how expensive an internet plan to use them) a $500 phone (same question about plan costs) and basically REFUSE to get a job because they don’t pay enough. Even YOU could get a job in fast food. It would help your family and teach you some discipline and the value of a dollar, as well as the value of the work that earned that dollar. Maybe you would even learn that if you are that poor, you don’t get computers, smart phones and GAME CONSOLES!!!! Go to consumer credit and learn how to make a budget and follow it.

Hey Not-so, how the heck can anyone here be charged with harassment when he comes here voluntarily? If he doesn’t like the treatmet he is getting here, he can leave at aytime. Plus, in harassment cases doesn’t the “victim” have to establish that the harassment has or has the potential to cause financial harm?

Not so silent January 29, 2013 at 4:49 pm

Well my fine young lady you just defined harassment much better than I did and said it mucho bettero…I was kinda long winded but the effect is the same…As Perry Mason once said, “you got no case”…there’s nothing to base it on, if you keep coming back to get bashed over the head with a frying pan, it’s your own fault. Did the Wylie Coyote ever take the Road Runner to court? Of course not. He did it too himself, same thing applies here.

From my perspective he acts the very same way suspects do when they get caught. The deny, deflect, and play the “victim” just like liberal politicians do when they get caught. Remember Bill Clinton in the “It’s all a vast right-wing conspiracy against me” when he bumped his head on Monica? (sorry I could resist) That is criminal behavior, no different than our leaders act now, and Crowley is just copying what he sees. He is not smart enough nor clever enough to not take the bait.

They interviewed a man on a local Louisville newscast last night who was kicked out of the Boy Scouts as a leader. He’s gay. He was quite thin, gaunt and sickly looking. I don’t know if he has HIV. Maybe yes, maybe no. But it made me start thinking about how the victims of male sexual abuse could possibly get HIV. The Boy Scouts are said to be caving under corporate pressure.
