Cap-and-trade absurdity: Democrats can’t find their own 300-page amendment

Please allow us sum up this short video clip in three words: Oh, my God.

Texas Republican Joe Barton can’t help but laugh at the Democrat absurdity-on-parade during the cap-and-trade debate. The Democrats added a 300-page amendment to the bill in the middle of the night. As a result, no one had actually read the amendment and, in fact, no one even knew where the amendment was.

We suspect that Barton was thinking of our tagline: If we didn’t laugh, we’d cry.

Jake July 6, 2009, 3:32 pm at 3:32 pm: “The amendment is on the website”???? And how are we going to know they didn’t change the amendment after the vote? … or even during the vote? Without a printed copy, the written law can be “revised” to suit the whims of the government. But then, that’s how democrats like the law to work anyway: just make it up as you go along.
