Catholic diocese disinvites speaker on Islam after Muslims bellyache. That’s not the worst part. Turns out the brouhaha was instigated by a Boston Globe reporter who convinced area Muslims they should contact the diocese to complain about Robert Spencer’s appearance. Whereupon the Catholics folded like a cheap tent.

Robert Spencer knows what the hell he’s talking about.

I’m surprised he’s still walking around alive.

Pray for his safety and freedom to speak. He, and others like him need to be heard.

Funny they are more afraid of Muslims than they are of Chicago Jesus and his assorted horde of criminals and crooks…..Obama is not in the same league as the crazy Jihady cave men.

Well, they should be afraid of Muslims… not that they shouldn’t be afraid of “Chicago Jesus” (that’s a good one) too, but it’s almost understandable… not excusable, but understandable. Spencer takes the high ground in not being critical of the church or the Globe journalist. I do wish the Church would have stood their ground. Christians all over the world are being tortured and killed for their beliefs… here in the states, where there is still a fair amount of safety in terms of saying what you believe, it’s a bit unseemly to see this kind of capitulation.

I’m familiar with Spencer. He knows Islam. He’s courageous too in that he keeps speaking. For years the Catholic laity complained about Pro-Abortion politicians speaking on Church property and at graduations about issues other than abortion. The laity were ignored for years. It has only been recently that there has been a little bit of improvement on these matters, though such speakers still speak at Catholic colleges and universities all over the place. I have mixed feelings on Catholic-Islam relations. Pope John Paul II formed a successful alliance with Muslims in 1995 to prevent the UN from declaring abortion a universal right which Hillary and the Clinton Administration were pushing. After this successful effort, our local liberal paper published an editorial cartoon of Pope John Paul II in bed with a Muslim which caused a firestorm among local Catholics. Pope Benedict XVI reaches out to Muslims though a firestorm resulted in 2006 when he quoted an author who said Islam has brought nothing good to the world. My problem in ever meeting with Muslims would be: How do they interpret the Koran? Are they moderate Muslims who will be tolerant or will they immediately seek to kill me or blow me up as an infidel?

It’s time to declare Jihad on the members of the religion of peace, give them a taste of their own medicine.
