CBS suggests the perfect gift for woman you love

Hard as it may be to believe, this is a real public service announcement that ran recently on CBS. Seriously. It’s not a Saturday Night Live parody.

So much for the Tiffany network.

They are at the same level of class as the Obamas-this is no surprise.

The message for women to go and get a pap smear… not bad. It is actually very good.

The way the message was done was gross… So basically my husband is to do the pap smear… himself? It is not clear. Or is it that my husband should tell me? Like I dont know already? And what husband actually goes to his wife and say babe go get a pap smear?

Weird…

Jeez, where do I start with this unbelievable tripe masquerading as a public service announcement?
Let’s start with the simple facts that every 5th grader should be taught in sex-ed these days…it is a SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE! So, that means if YOU have it, YOUR MAN has it as well! Makes me sick the way it comes across…”Well, guys, get your lil’ lady down to the lab and see if she’s got it.” Like she’s a dirty wh*re for having it. Uh-huh. Yeah, what I want to know is the stats of how many of those same men have given it to their women! Now THAT’S a gift that keeps on giving!
A friend years ago went for her Pap and the doctor told her to bring her hubby in for the result where he spoke to each of them separately and then together…she found out after the visit that the Dr. read him the riot act and that’s when she discovered that he’d cheated on her and given her a STD! Another friend’s sister was in her 30’s when she died from cervical cancer caused by HPV. It’s rare that it causes cancer in men, but for women, it’s deadly. MEN need to just as educated about it AND be tested for it as women do! Not only that, but more and more, people who are non-tobacco users (men & women) are getting throat cancer…you guessed it, from HPV!
Now if they would have just have some decent info and mentioned, “Go to ____.com to get more information”, that would’ve cast a wider net and helped educate more people, I believe. We have more crap commercials for erectile dysfunction than we do for things that can help save lives. Yeah, we’ve got our priorities straight!
