Climate pilots seek missionary position in United States

Climate pilots seen here gleefully digging capitalism's grave

Climate change has become a religion. It has its god (or goddess): Gaia. It has its bible: Silent Spring. And now it even has its missionaries.

Sweden is hoping to evangelize Americans into joining this new-timey religion by sending four properly indoctrinated climate missionary families, which they call Climate Pilots, out into America’s carbon lustful jungle. Cast somewhere between the Young Pioneers and the Hitler Youth, climate pilots will teach the savage Americans how to forgo the sins of automobile driving and renounce other forms of fossil fuels.

After all, America and China account for, like, 40 percent of the world’s carbon.  (Just like every religion, the Global Climate religion has its share of doctrinal inconsistencies: America accounts for 22 percent of the world’s GDP, making it one of the more efficient economies on the planet.)

According to the Washington Post reporter, these missionaries are meant to “nudge” Americans into Europe’s one true religion.

“The Climate Pilots program exemplifies the broader dynamics at play in the international climate debate: Europeans impatiently nudging the United States and other countries toward a less carbon-intensive lifestyle.”

What’s next for these missionairies? Since Glenn Beck book burnings are so carbon intensive, the Climate Pilots may have to be content with vying for the position of local energy fuhrer and conducting home climate prayer meetings.

“In Sweden, every community has a climate and energy adviser, and the government launched “study circles” on climate across the nation in the early 1990s.”

Maybe in the summer you can send your kids to Saint Rachel Carson’s vacation climate school?

I’m also guessing that most of the suicides in Sweden happened after talking to the local climate and energy advisor
