You can sleep soundly tonight, America, secure in the knowledge that Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey is out to get the evil Catholics
Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, a Democrat from California, says the government needs to wake up and take a close look at the dangerous religious extremists who live among us.
Congratulations, Congresswomen Woolsey. It’s about time someone challenges those murderous Muslims.
What’s that? Woolsey wasn’t talking about murderous Muslims? She was talking about Catholics?
Yes, sir and yes, maam. Woolsey wants the IRS to investigate the possibility that the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops did something – anything, really – during the ObamaCare debate that might threaten its tax-exempt status. In a direct violation of the separation of church and state, Woolsey is almost praying that the IRS can dig up some dirt.
Job well done, Congresswoman Woolsey. We, too, have had our eye on those Catholics for a long time and we say it’s about time someone else catches on to them.
Those Saturday night bingo games are obviously terrorist fundraisers. And who really knows what the St. Vincent DePaul Society is doing with those old shirts we gave them.
Shape up, Catholics. Uncle Sam knows what you’re up to.

I guess Pelosi/Reed are angry that the Catholics are going at them for their stance on publicly funded abortion-as is barry. go against them and you will suffer the full wrath of the government, as no one can speak out against anyone in the government and expect not to be spirited off in the middle of the night and executed with your children as happened to the Romamovs–shades of a certain revolution are swirling around this administration. Although, if one thinks about it-the Czar’s family were taken off and executed after years of similar crap we are seeing now-anti-Semitism, a weakening government that was CRUSHED by a weaker nation(which will happen here, with the planned destruction of our military and the weakening of our dollar)….It is starting to look more and more like the revolution…….Here is a nostradamus-esque quote from a letter Czar Nicholas wrote-CHILLING “It makes me sick to read the news! Nothing but strikes in schools and factories, murdered policemen, Cossacks and soldiers, riots, disorder, mutinies. But the ministers, instead of acting with quick decision, only assemble in council like a lot of frightened hens and cackle about providing united ministerial action… ominous quiet days began, quiet indeed because there was complete order in the streets, but at the same time everybody knew that something was going to happen — the troops were waiting for the signal, but the other side would not begin. One had the same feeling, as before a thunderstorm in summer! Everybody was on edge and extremely nervous and of course, that sort of strain could not go on for long…. We are in the midst of a revolution with an administrative apparatus entirely disorganized, and in this lies the main danger.”
Lest we not forget “Bloody Sunday” when the troops of the government in Russia fired on protesting citizens….Wow-it looks like history may well repeat itself-lets hope it is selective not to repeat the violence!
Wow-I was just very serious wasn’t I?
What I meant to say was that Congresswoman Jackass has just crossed the line of State Meddling with the Church-and that my friends is a signal of the end of days, because we all know that the Democrats in power now, would never cross that line, ever. Right?
You are soooo correct on this, whats that old saying “those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it” we have a corrupt government who has set themselves up as lords and we besides being just their pet piggy banks get to glean the fields for their leftovers and to allow them the warm fuzzy feeling. Hopefully when this house of cards collapses all 554 of them will be held accountable for what they have done to this county and the constitution they are continually attempt to shred and rewrite into their socialist doctrine.
“Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it”
You are sooo right about that. The repeal of Glass Steagel led to the financial crisis in the banking sector which nearly sent us into another great depression. Those laws were put in place by Roosevelt after the first crash to protect america from greedy unscrupulous wall street bankers. And those laws worked until the eighties when the Republicans managed to de-regulate the savings and loan industry and created what they called “junk bonds” remember those? they almost crashed the market and many americans lost everything. The Republicans are doomed to fail again and again as long as they continue to sell their nation and their patriotism to the highest bidder. And if Beck and all the other weirdos on the right wing ( and you guys do have all the weirdos) eventually get their way we’ll have “The United States, presented by Mobil” or something like that. You’ll work for script instead of dollars and that script will only be good at the company owned store where you’ll pay two and three times market value for the product. We’ve been there before. We’ll have unsafe work environments where children are at risk every time they go to work because we’ve been there before too. Take control of this country from the elected represented government that the founding fathers put in place and hand it over to the corporations. See how often Glen Beck cries then. Socialism my a**. Passing laws to protect the citizens of this nation is the duty of our elected representatives. That has been true since the time of Washington and Franklin. Only a rabid Fascist would call laws that promote the general welfare Communism
First of all, the correct phrase is, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” It was written by George Santayana.
Savings and loan deregulation was signed into law in 1980 by Jimmy Carter, who was, the last time we checked, a Democrat, a horrible president, and an anti-Semitic son of a bitch.
Michael Milken, who created the junk bond industry, is Jewish, which makes it highly unlikely that he was a Republican. Could have been, but it’s doubtful. He was prosecuted – some would say unfairly – by Rudy Giuliani who was, the last time we checked, a Republican.
You are an angry, ignorant man. But then, you are a liberal so calling you angry and ignorant is a bit redundant.
But putting all that aside, please keep making ignorant comments here at IHTM. It gives most of our readers a good laugh and that’s our primary goal.
I wasn’t speaking of S&L regulation but rather the deregulation of such. Once again you try to lay the Republican crime on the Democrat because he didn’t police the corporate whores (a.k.a. Republicans).
Just because Giuliani prosecuted only means that he may have once did his job.
If your suggesting that Milkin being jewish would somehow have prevented him from buying some fat Republican trim you are sadly mistaken. Just as whores are wont to do, they’ll jump in bed with anyone.
By the way, the phrase was a verbatum repeat of one of your conservative friends. I used his words to set up my argument.
Hey, I hope all of this hasn’t made Glen Beck cry! Again. He’ll have to suckle on Limbaugh’s fat teet.
In 1979, the financial health of the thrift industry was again challenged by a return of high interest rates and inflation, sparked this time by a doubling of oil prices. Because the sudden nature of these changes threatened to cause hundreds of S&L failures, Congress finally acted on deregulating the thrift industry. It passed two laws, the Depository Institutions DEREGULATION AND MONETARY CONTROL ACT OF 1980 AND THE GARN-ST. GERMAIN DEPOSITORY INSTITUTIONS ACT OF 1982. The deregulation not only allowed thrifts to offer a wider array of savings products, but also significantly expanded their lending authority. These changes were intended to allow S&Ls to “grow” out of their problems, and as such represented the first time that the government explicitly sought to increase S&L profits as opposed to promoting housing and homeownership. Other changes in thrift oversight included authorizing the use of more lenient accounting rules to report their financial condition, and the elimination of restrictions on the minimum numbers of S&L stockholders. Such policies, combined with an overall decline in regulatory oversight (known as forbearance), would later be cited as factors in the later collapse of the thrift industry.
Well it took all of five minutes with a Google search to discover you were wrong about the Carter thing. Man, you sure are making a fool of me in front of your conservative buddies.
Jon… have you got your Obama Money yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZ-Etb0k0Q
mmm mmm mmm
I wish I would. It’s about time a working man got a break. After all T. Boone Pickens, Bill Gates, Bill Allen, and Ben Stein all got their Bush money at the tax payer’s expense. Why not let somebody who’s working to make ends meet get a break for a change. All of us aren’t millionaires like you IMO we actually have to punch the clock and make the products and deliver the services people like you depend on.
Jon, I operated a business 26 years (16 hrs a day) for 630 clock punchers. I provided them & their families w/ health care, IRA’s & ownership options to help save the company. Today in my retirement I’am very pleased to say those clock punchers now own & operate that business successfully (pehaps better than I). There is nothing wrong with the working man & his or her opportunity to achieve the American Dream nor do you need to feel so angry w/ their success. It’s all in ones perspective I guess, jon
I’m not angry with the success of others. I have always and still do admire Bill Gates. I do not begrudge them their success or their fortune. I can’t hate them because given the opportunity I would cheerfully join their ranks.
What I do begrudge is that some people who supported a tax policy that for seven years allowed these already increadibly rich people to line their already over-burdened pockets at everyone elses expense, will now scream bloody murder because some of our tax dollars might go to help someone who isn’t poor enough to qualify for medicare nor wealthy enough to purchase insurance in order to see a doctor.
We are correct about “the Carter thing” and nothing in the quote you supplied contradicts what we said.
Carter signed the Deregulation and Monetary Control Act of 1980. Don’t know how to break this to you gently, but Carter was President until January of 1981. The Democrats held overwhelming majorities in both the house and senate in 1980. After the Reagan landslide the Republicans narrowly controlled the Senate but the Democrats still held an overwhelming advantage in the house. So Reagan signed the second bill you cite, but it was passed by a House that had a huge Dem majority and the Senate which had a small Republican majority.
O.K. so what your saying is that Reagen signed it but really had no control of congress. Obviously that’s the point you’re making when you say:
” After the Reagan landslide the Republicans narrowly controlled the Senate but the Democrats still held an overwhelming advantage in the house. So Reagan signed the second bill you cite, but it was passed by a House that had a huge Dem majority and the Senate which had a small Republican majority.”
You’re trying to excuse Reagen for signing a bill that was passed through a congress which was for the most part Dems.
If this is how you feel, then I have no doubt that you will correct conservatives every time they use NAFTA and the Chinese trade agreements against Clinton right? After all, the Republicans controlled both houses for the last six of Clinton’s eight years.
Thank Obama they are clamping down on these Catholics, next thing you know the Catholics will be targeting the Islamo-psycho terrorists.
2 Catholics will be targeting the Islamo-psycho terrorists.
We Catholics have already received our Super Secret Marching Orders from the Vatican that the Amish are next. We HATE the Amish. The Islamo-Sissies will be taken care of after that.

Why are Liberal women so…what is the word….not good looking…in need of some Clairol….just plain homely…downright u&!#??? Is it some sort of need to be repellent? I mean, ladies, if the barn needs painting, don’t spare the brush and roller.
Just my two cents since I am not Catholic.
What does it matter? you can’t get a woman under any circumstances so what’s the diff?
got to say Jon, that one was pretty good
Actually it’s a ridiculous argument. Looks don’t determine political affiliation.
But Conservatives are always talking about Hollywood being so liberal. Well, Hollywood is full of the most beautiful people in our society. Based on looks that is, you can’t deny that actresses for the most part are good looking. So how can the majority of actresses in Hollywood (who are very good looking) be liberals, and yet according to Dee Mac ( armed with irrefutable scientific data no doubt) claims that Liberal women are ugly. It can’t be both. I suspect it’s neither. There are good looking and not so good looking women on both sides.
Eric Holder indicts Bush administration. Five (5) star witnesses called up from GITMO.
GITMO 5 ink contract for NYC-based reality show. Obama picks up his Emmy tonight on SNL.
Congresswoman Woolsey introduces bailout legislation for NYC law firms. GITMO 5 Reality Show Trial could cost billions. Pay Czar suspends ban on bonuses.
Yet another proud member of the obama brain trust, those darn Catholics, who really knows what those bingo cards really mean? code? overthrow? Yep! if I had to keep an eye out for Catholics or Muslims, I would watch those rascal Catholics, I bet the congresswoman would be OK with profiling them as well. At least our Homeland security is in good hands!
I know a Beck fan isn’t going to pretend that people on the left hold all these conspiracy theories.
Where was she when Rev. Wright was preaching sedition? Let’s not forget the Black Evangelical churches in our rage. Oh, and the Mormons too — those outrageous defenders of traditional marrige (one man, one woman – how so last century!) and then we can take a swipe at the Jews, who outrageously insist that Israel is a legitimate country, with the land purchased from willing sellers in 1948. They should just quit-claim it back to the arabs because they have sellers remorse.
Then we have those new agers, inspired by John Lennon, “Imagine there’s no countries” treason! all those politicians would have to find productive employment.
And then there are the protestants, the vigilanties of radicalism forcing such outrageous displays of the 10 commandments and slogans like “In God we Trust” and “one nation under God” on the psychies of innocent school children.
If being an EXTREMIST means being a PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY PATRIOT, then COUNT ME IN!
And if being a self-righteous, anti american, bigot makes you a conservative, we’ll count you in for that too.
Good luck with that whole living in fear thing. America is the home of the brave, perhaps you should consider citizenship elsewhere, somewhere with a lot of sheep. You should be quite comfortable there.
In what way was what he said self-righteous, anti American or bigoted? Differences of opinion is what has made this nation strong for over 200 years. It is only now that the government is trying to shut up the opposition. It seems to me that anyone who would attempt to silence someone through intimidation or ridicule is self righteous, anti American and bigoted.
When you say the government is trying to shut up the opposition I assume you’re referring to the “free speech zones”. Obama doesn’t use those, it was Bush who wouldn’t let people speak out.
nope, can’t say I was talking about ‘free speech zones’ I was more talking about discussions regarding the fairness act and other methods of stifling opposition speech, including the vilification of the tea baggers and other groups opposing the liberal agenda. Just because a person disagrees with another does not mean they should be called racist, redneck or other negative names. If the protesters have legitimate concerns they should be listened to and their concern addressed, not ignored, minimized and ridiculed. Look around, this is what the left has been doing. Anyone who disagrees with them is either stupid or a shill for the Republican party, this despite the fact that there are many independents and some Democrats who are concerned about what is happening in our great nation.
First off, why aren’t you referring to the free speech zones? The very name is an affront to the American way of life. We have freedom of speech. If you create free speech zones, then there has to be non free speech zones am I not correct? By what authority, what law, article or ammendment did the Bush administration derive the power to create “non free speech zones”?
I do agree with your position on the fairness act. I beleive that Fox dangerously mis-informs people and that Fox knows many of these individuals are getting their information from only one source, but trying to stiffle the false information starts you down a slippery slope. What’s more, if you did succeed in passing some type of legislation, they would simply change their format to get around the law (which is what every respectable business does), so it would be pointless.
I beleive you should just fight fire with fire. For example, if a bunch of people start accusing the president of being a communist and carachature him as Adolf Hitler or something along those lines, you should just point out the fact that they are a bunch of racists and rednecks or something along those lines. Or lets say someone calls the Democrats the “Dumb-ocrats” then if you’re offended you should just turn around and call Tea Partyers “Tea-baggers” or something like that.
Fair enough?
P.S. The Democratic Senators and Congressmen were trying to engage and answer legitimate questions at the town halls. It was the other side that was trying to disrupt and prevent any civil discourse at those meetings and you and I both know it.
Dangerous Catholics? It’s a joke right?
This sort of ignorance makes me want to kill babies.
Well we’re all glad to see that you are defeating the ignorance by way of sound and reasonable baby murdering.
Did I actually say that I was murdering babies? I said that this makes me WANT to kill babies.
Oh, I mis-spoke. You have the desire to kill babies but lack the fortitude, courage, or willpower to do it. This makes you a much better person.
Tell you what, say whatever you want, I’m through talking to you.
P.S. You’re a fantastic person. A truly great American.
