Until owning too much gold and silver becomes illegal, too. Franklin D. Roosevelt made it illegal to own all but very small amounts of gold with Executive Order 6102 (this was repealed by Gerald Ford in 1974).

In point of fact, that is why so many wealthy people in countries with fragile political systems tend to keep their money in precious metals rather than currency. It is not only for inflation protection but also makes it easier to hide it from confiscation-happy governments.

I’d close my accounts and take the penalty first. You only lose 20%, vs what the crash would do to it.
Then I’d put the money in something they can’t touch, like a mayonnaise jar in my back yard.

It is truly amazing how libtards recycle crap. President Roosevelt enacted an undistributed profits tax in 1936 with a top rate of 60 percent. FDR seemed intent on prolonging the pain and misery of the Great Depression and this tax (along with all his other tax hikes) worked quite well.

But you only judge libtards by their intentions, not the results.
