Delaware taxpayers increasingly on the hook as Fisker auto plant idles. Fisker sounds like Finnish for the f-bomb. It sure looks like Delaware got Fiskered to us. They’ve also Fiskered the US Government out of $193 million in loan guarantees. Sounds like a 4 wheeled Solyndra.

Not a good roll for the gubbermint but a great roll for the politicians. If it works out, the pol is a hero (on someone else’s dime, but he/she/it gets the credit.) If it fails (as it usually does) the loss goes into the black hole of gubbermint spending, never to be seen again even though taxes will rise in the aggregate. Both the failure and the rise in taxes will be blamed on someone/something else.

Private capital invests their OWN money carefully based on realistic probabilities of profitable return. Pols invest OPM recklessly because return is irrelevant, it’s all about getting the suckers to VOTE FOR ME!
