Rain, rain, go away, come again on a non-election day: Democrat Excuse of the Day

by editor on October 30, 2010

Whaaaaa. We thought the Democrats had already exhausted their supply of weak reasons they’re going to lose Tuesday’s election. But they’ve come up with a new one.

Proof that Republicans aren't afraid to go out in the rain

TheHill.com has the inclement information:

In more bad news for Democrats, rain is in the forecast for much of the country on Election Day.

Weather tracking websites, including weather.com and The Old Farmer’s Almanac, are calling for rain in the Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast regions, with chances for precipitation in other parts of the country as well.

According to Laurel Harbridge, a Northwestern University political science professor, said GOP voters are not typically discouraged by rain. “Republicans are helped by bad weather…it does harm Democratic prospects.”

Wendy Schiller, a political science professor at Brown University, echoed Harbridge. “Bad weather almost always hurts Democrats,” she said. “The traditional Democratic base tends to include lower income people and the elderly. Both of those demographic groups have a hard time getting to the polls.”

Nonsense. Of course, Democrats are capable of voting in the rain. But sometimes, when it gets really wet, they only vote once.

A Democrat would pee on your leg and tell you it’s raining if that would keep’em in power. A lot of voters would believe’em too.

Screw you, IHtM. This really IS unfair to democrats. As anyone who’s watched The Wizard of Oz knows, Democrats melt when touched by water.

Oh… because I am “wallet rich” and capable to have a car with gas and buy an unbrella and take 20 minutes of my time to go vote, the republicans will benefit from the rain… riiiight…. If the person is too elderly and too poor they may not get to the voting polls regardless of rain right? What a way to pad the rough landing man…

It is amazing how little these people think of their constituents as well. If the voters felt very strongly FOR the democrats no rain will stop them from going to vote.

I am surprised that Bush wasn’t blamed for this, after all he controls the weather and was directly responsible for Katrina happening AND he hates black people, the poor and the elderly…

Itsy, bitsy Democrats walking to the polls
Along came the rain and washed the Democrats out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the big, bad Republicans won the election again.

You got that right. Remember when some town was giving away free houses or something a few months back…? In the sweltering heat people were forming to fill out a form to be able to be chosen to later participate in the giveaway. It was disgusting.

Remember all the folks standing in the smoldering ruins of South Central at the post office waiting for checks following the 1992 Los Angeles riots civil unrest à la Rodney King?
