Detroit election officials have confirmed what an analysis of census and population records shows: Motown has more registered voters over the age of 18 than it has residents in the same age group.

Detroit’s current population is estimated to be about 853,000. That includes 603,000 people over 18, which is about 30,000 fewer than the city’s total of registered voters over 18.

Sadly, those phantom voters do not pay taxes. They’re just too damn busy voting.
