Elena Kagan doesn’t cross her legs. And other vital liberal observations.

elena kagan does not cross legs

News flash! Elena Kagan doesn't cross her legs.

Count on the Washington Post to discuss the most important issues of the day. Or not.

In this case, the paper had a body language expert analyze the way Kagan sits. The conclusion? She doesn’t cross her legs. And that proves what a strong, independent women she is.

The Post observes:

In the photographs of Kagan sitting and chatting in various Capitol Hill offices, she doesn’t appear to ever cross her legs. Her posture stands out because for so many women, when they sit, they cross. People tend to mimic each other’s body language during a conversation, especially if they’re trying to connect with one another. But even when Kagan sits across from Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who has her legs crossed at the knees, Kagan keeps both feet planted firmly on the ground. Her body language will not be bullied into conformity.

She does not cross her legs at the ankles either, the way so many older women do. Instead, Kagan sits, in her sensible skirts, with her legs slightly apart, hands draped in her lap. The woman and her attire seem utterly at odds. She is intent on being comfortable. No matter what the clothes demand. No matter the camera angle.

We reach a slightly different conclusion: The woman is overweight and couldn’t cross her legs if her life depended on it.

Sorry. It may be a superficial observation, but it makes a lot more sense than the Post’s liberal mumbo jumbo.

Rated Awesome! What do you think? Thumb up 14 Thumb down 0

I have a different theory all together. It is probably tough for a dude wearing tight panty hose to cross his legs, without squashing his nuts. So, he has to sit with his legs slightly apart, so as to not be in excruciating pain!

OR. She’s overweight.

Dear WaPo,

I know it’s hard to find reasons to praise this lady, but non-leg-crossing was especially silly.

Love,
Me

And that is more my concern. I suppose a case could be made for not-crossing, since it inhibits circulation and causes varicose veins. But can’t she close her legs? My Mother told me it was not lady like or modest to have your legs hanging open for anyone to see up your dress, no matter what they may find there.

You miss the point, Deb. She doesn’t want to show modesty or anything like that because SHE is REALLY a man without the equipment. And she thinks that doing anything that shows any sense of taste or class would show some sort of weakness. No kidding.

She is one of these women who thinks that she is “acting” like a man (and will therefore garner respect, yada, yada, yada). Would bet she is a total b***h to work with, and for. I would also hazard a guess that she is widely hated by her staff. (but I am only speculating given ONLY that I have worked with this type of “woman” before)

She probably doesn’t really consider herself a woman per se. Woman being an offensive term.

Great, now I have to contend with the image of a Kagan’s uncrossed legs, which is burned into my brain and sure to disturb my sleep. Thanks a lot.

Even if she doesn’t cross at the ankles a lady closes her legs and then for comfort drops both closed legs a bit to either side or she could sit closer to the edge of the chair and do it, if sitting back is not very comfortable. If she felt it necessary to keep her legs up without dropping them she could have still just closed her legs and sit closer to the edge of the chair that way she could be a bit more confortable with her legs closed yet standing erect so to speak. She is not very lady like that is all there is to it. It almost seems as if she has never worn skirts before in her life.

I just had a “Basic Instinct” flashback, but instead of Sharon Stone, it was Kagan.

To whom at Ihatethemedia, do I send the bill for the vomit clean-up?

Kagan picked her nose during hearing today; wow, on live TV, no home training.
