We prefer to think of Elizabeth Taylor as young and hot rather than old and crazy

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the death of Michael Jackson, it’s that life goes on. Especially if it’s Elizabeth Taylor’s life.

The former Hollywood leading lady issued this heartfelt statement about her good friend:

My heart . . . my mind . . . are broken. I loved Michael with all my soul and I can’t imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together. I was packing up my clothes to go to London for his opening when I heard the news. I still can’t believe it. I don’t want to believe it. It can’t be so. He will live in my heart forever but it’s not enough. My life feels so empty. I don’t think anyone knew how much we loved each other. The purest most giving love I’ve ever known. Oh God! I’m going to miss him. I can’t yet imagine life with out [sic] him. But I guess with God’s help . . . I’ll learn. I keep looking at the photo he gave me of himself, which says, “To my true love Elizabeth, I love you forever.” And, I will love HIM forever.

Wall Street Journal’s Best of the Web points out that the self-absorbed former star referred to herself 23 times in this 162 word statement (and that’s if we exclude the word “we” from the total).

There’s one thing in Taylor’s statement that cannot be disputed.

Her mind is definitely broken.

I cannot even remember the last time I have read such a tasteless and completely insensitive article.

Ms. Taylor has just lost a dear friend who died tragically at a relatively young age. And, right or wrong, we ALL think of our own misery when we lose a loved one. Why else do we grieve? The dead are already out of their misery so there is no need to cry for them – it’s OURSELVES that we are really sorry for.

Moreover, remember that Ms. Taylor has lost MORE than her share friends – Monty Clift, James Dean Rock Hudson, Roddy McDowell, Malcolm Forbes as well as teh two greatest loves of her life.

Please remember this before you take another cheap shot at a woman who has shown incredible strength, courage and loyalty her entire life.

Well what the hell do you want her to do??
say: OH MY GOD I CANT IMAGINE WHAT THE FANS ARE GOING THROUGH!
It was one of her good friends.. What if one of your close friends died? (If you have any) What would you say?
You are ignorant..
If this is all you can come up with to right about..get a new job.
