Wouldn’t it be easier to just remove the stupid teacher?

Sounds like a teacher overstepped his or her authority. Maybe this individual didn’t realize who the “Marines” are and thought they were some offshoot (pardon the pun) of the NRA or something.

I think you called it, but Holy Cow, a superintendent with common sense?
“The teacher is obviously allowed to question anything they feel might be a violation of dress code, but again, had an administrator been allowed to respond, this could have been taken care of yesterday.”
Isn’t that illegal or something?

I’m not completely sure that isn’t a good idea.
It seems to me that too many kids use their clothing to make rather crude statements.
If nobody was allowed to wear t-shirts with slogans or whatever on them, the kids from La Raza would have to leave their Mexican flag shirts home, and there would be no Che shirts in school either. Remember, those restrictions cut both ways.

That’s fine, as long as it’s all or nothing. The subjective decisions are what cause the problem, better yet the people making them are the problem. At least this superintendent seems to have his head screwed on straight.

I bet if the kid was wearing a NAMBLA shirt this teacher would have nominated him for class president.
