That CNN article does mention Nagin’s race but doesn’t mention Nagin’s political affiliation, an oversight I’m sure. For the record, he is a Democrat. Hmmm…a corrupt Democrat mayor, is there any other kind?

I think he is inelegible to run agian because of term limits. Otherwise, I am sure you are right. After his epic fail preparing for Katrina (once again, a mere Category 2 hurrincane that didn’t even HIT New Orleans) he was overwhelmingly re elected by residents in exile in other areas. I have heard him referred to as Ray N****r. I can’t help but agree. N****r refers more to behaviour than color from my point of view. This indictment just solidified my overall opinion of him.

Wasn’t he also the guy on center stage who failed to evacuate the city before the effing hurricane? Wasn’t there a story that a bunch of city school buses ended up under water, buses that COULD HAVE been used to move some people to safety? Does anyone else remember that?

Oh, and of course:
2005 – Hurricane Katrina – slow federal relief efforts because BUSH IS A RAAAAACIST!
2012 – Hurricane Sandy – slow federal relief efforts because BUSH HIRED THESE PEOPLE!

Never mind both he and the governor repeatedly turned down help from Pres Bush. He finally had to over rule them and suspend habius corpus to help people in the area.

Funny thing, that dumbass Bush actually knew how that was supposed to work. Imagine if had just push aside the moron Governor Blanco, & the crooked Mayor Nagin, to order an evacuation of the lower 9th ward, full of black folks? Whether they wanted to go or not?

The Governor refused National Guard assistance because when the guard takes over, they run things, and Mary didn’t want to give up control of the situation. Her words, not an assumption. She delayed a week or more before allowing National Guard in. THey have to be requested by the state, and she refused to do so. I neve figured out what part of that was Bush’s fault, but there you go. I never figured out how flying over the area when no other transportation could move in the area was a bad thing either, but that’s just me I guess.

Wasn’t he also under investigation for trampling the gun rights of some law-abiding citizens? I never heard the outcome of that.

I appreciate the probably confiscated her weapon, but the clip seems more to show the issue with mandatory evacuation after the hurricane. She is a tiny little woman, and DID need to leave, but did the cop have to tackle her? Really? Amazing if she wasn’t injured, since he looked like he weighed better than twice what she did!

I rememer it well. Which makes his statments about wanting Greyhounds rather than school busses to evacuate AFTER the hurricane and flood even more poignant. Who cares WHAT transportation was used. The goal should have been to get people out, regardles of how!

Once a stupid democrat, always a stupid democrat. Let us see, would not order the evacuation of New Orleans before Katrina and now he is caught getting his hands in the jar of money that he extracted from the federal government. Come on media tell us who he is. Who he is affiliated with and who he hangs out with. What is wrong? Are you ashamed to admit that one of your “boys” is actually a damn crock. Who screwed his electorate and his own peeps.

Here is hoping he gets to enjoy a cell with Bubba from the bayou.

So this Politician (dirtiest word I can call him) is merely bringing home the pork and like all politicians that bring home the pork, kickbacks are expected and delivered on. It’s no different than the DC sleaze-o’s when they “bring home the pork.” A healthy chuck ends up in their pocket. It’s the way politics works.

This isn’t pork, it the usual sense of the word. Pork is the bringing of jobs, money etc into one’s contstituent area over letting go to some other representative. At one level, that is the job of the Congress. Represent and support your constituents. Ray is just a full out thief, like so many Louisiana politicians before him.

It looks like the mayor might be painting the yellow school buses while wearing and nice orange jumpsuit. New Orleans has been a cesspool of corruption for decades. Now if the msm would just mention the fact that he was a corrupt democrat.

They’ll never admit to it. I have been saying for years that the money for assistance after Katrina was being stolen. I mean, in Mississippi, where the hurricane actually HIT, and wiped everything off the map well inland, its all been cleaned up, repaired, replaced and people are getting on with their lives. New Orleans still looks like a dump in the affected areas even after billions of dollars of aid.
