Absolutely bizarre: Secretary of Treasury Geithner admits his own budget is “unsustainable”

by editor on February 18, 2011

Is this a case of unadulterated gall or sheer stupidity? You watch this clip and tell us if it’s one or the other or if some completely different word come to mind.

Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner testified before the Senate today and got grilled by Jeff Sessions. The Senator pointed out that President Obama’s budget – the budget Geithner signed off on – contains interest payments and other obligations that are “excessively high” and “unsustainable.”

Geithner agreed.

Let us repeat that. The Secretary of the Treasury agreed that spending in the budget he and the President just submitted to Congress is unsustainable.

The inmates are running the asylum.

I think the budget plan as submitted by BO and his merry men, wants the other party to be the bad guys on actual budget cuts, which could actuslly do some good, as opposed to budget reductions.

The entire Obama administration is unsustainable, we cannot afford to keep these people in power beyond 2012. Even if Obama left office tomorrow the damage he’s already inflicted on America is severe, maybe fatal.

He also said that we can’t grow our way out of our mess. Geihtner is a dumbass who should be nowhere near the economic levers of power. I’m a dope, & even I know how to use Turbotax, this idiot does’nt. He needs to go away before he helps destroy America.

He must have had his medication…

However considering his position why do something just because he has no “alternative plan”? If he knows this is the wrong thing to do, it is best to do nothing that will make it worst… Right? So doing something in order to just appear to do something is insanity. I agree with Elrond we cannot afford Obama and his minions any longer. I can only hope that we can go back but my hopes are not very high right now.

What I don’t get is that they are throwing around these incredible numbers, these “unsustainable” numbers … and we haven’t even started paying for Obamacare yet.

Oh yeah, I forgot. That’s going to be revenue-neutral and won’t add to the deficit / debt at all!

Never mind.
