Spreading his money around like a pro athlete at a strip club, George “Sugar Daddy” Soros wrote checks to NPR – who conveniently fired Juan Williams within two days of receiving their Soros’ pay off – Huffington Post and Media Matters.
Fox News reported that, “In a statement obtained by The Caucus, (Media Matters) says it plans to use the money to intensify its efforts to hold the Fox host Glenn Beck and others on the cable news channel accountable for their reporting.”
Well, if by holding them “accountable for their reporting” Media Matters means to launch a boycott aimed at shutting down free speech in general and Fox news specifically, then yes, they are trying to hold Glenn Beck accountable.
The statement continues, “Fox has transformed itself into a 24-7 G.O.P. attack machine, dividing Americans through fear-mongering and falsehoods and undermining the legitimacy of our government for partisan political ends.”
Coincidentally, Media Matters exists solely as a left-wing attack machine created to attack Fox 24-7 through fear-mongering and falsehoods for partisan political ends. But that was not noted in the story.
Fox also reported that, “Mr. Soros, a billionaire who has a history of supporting liberal politicians and causes, accused Fox News hosts of ‘incendiary rhetoric’ and said he hoped that his money would be used ‘in an effort to more widely publicize the challenge Fox News poses to civil and informed discourse in our democracy.’”
What Mr. Soros neglected to say was that while he is opposed to “right wing” incendiary rhetoric, incindiary rhetoric from the left is highly encouraged. Anyone who’s ever visited Media Matters knows that its “reporters” (or “fellows,” as they like to call them) don’t actually report, but instead search through the media much like the little old lady searching for dirty words, looking for something – anything, really – that can be twisted and distorted to support their left wing world view.
Media Matters has always been a joke. But by taking Soros’ cash, it’s become the old joke whose punch line is, “We’ve already determined what you are. Now we’re just negotiating the price.”
