Gore resorts to smoke, mirrors and Photoshop trickery in his new science fiction book

Sure, Al Gore’s made hundreds of millions of dollars with his global warming scam, but you still have to feel sorry for the poor schlub.

America’s book buyers have decided that “Our Choice,” Gore’s latest book, is more science fiction than science. Instead of flying off the shelves in droves, it’s being left on the shelves in droves. Perhaps Gore has lost a little credibility with his attempt to scare the bejeezus out of readers by including a heavily-Photoshopped photo of Earth just inside the front cover.

What kind of PhotoShopping? Let’s just start with these egregious examples:

  • All the Arctic ice and most of Greenland’s ice has mysteriously disappeared
  • Florida is mostly submerged
  • Central America is gone
  • Cuba is gone
  • The hemisphere is bedeviled by four different hurricanes. Simultaneously. The thing is, though, that the one off the coast of mini-Florida is spinning in the wrong direction, meaning that it is actually a Southern Hemisphere hurricane.
  • There is a hurricane down there near the equator off the coast of Peru, which is damn near physically impossible.

To give Gore the benefit of the doubt, we wanted to assume that this artwork was an attempt to demonstrate what could happen if all the ice in the arctic and Greenland were to melt (as is shown in the photo). Unfortunately, for Panama to disappear beneath the waves would require sea levels to rise more than 11,400 feet (slightly more than the 14-inches anticipated by the IPCC report).

That sea level rise would leave only five towns in the entire world above water – Namache Bazaar, Nepal at 11,482 feet; Potosi, Bolivia at 13,420 feet; El Alto, Bolivia at 13,615 feet, Lhasa Tibet at 12,200 feet; and La Rinoconada, Peru at 16,728 feet. Denver, the Mile High City, would be a mile under water.

Sara Palin’s book is a runaway #1 this week on Amazon.com and has been in their Top 100 for 52 days. Glenn Beck’s book is #8 and has been in the Top 100 for 44 days. The global warming-bashing SuperFreakonomics is #10 and has been on the Top 100 for 46 days.

Meanwhile, Gore’s “Our Choice” never reached the Top 20 and has dropped to #123 after just 15 days. Two weeks ago it was #49 and last week it was #59. So it’s dropping even faster than worldwide temperatures and Gore’s credibility.

There’s only one way to reverse this disaster:

More PhotoShopping, Al, more PhotoShopping.

Finding a democrat today that doesn’t resort to smoke and mirrors is as difficult as finding a movie without Morgan Freeman in it.

I found one!!
Megan Fox’s new movie did not have Freeman in it… But it bombed and it was because it did not appeal to those stupid “middle America” types who don’t enjoy films about lesbian cannibals and their murderous ways.

Finding a Republican who isn’t a hipocryt is as difficult as finding a conservative blog without a guy named “Huck” posting comments on it.

Check this! Someone hacked into the Hadley Climate Research Unit and discovered some real juicy emails.

This will be fun to watch evolve as the state run media tries to keep this under the rug while it grows and grows online.

Andrew Breitbart, your turn to grab the torch and run with it.

Doug,
Funny how you cherry picked the information you wanted people to have on this subject. This article by Wired Magazine talks about how people like you are doing that very thing.
Also, next time you get your info. from a burglar (hacker) at least get the victim’s side.

Gavin Schmidt, a research scientist with NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, says the e-mails offer no damning indictment of climate researchers, and that bloggers are reading information in them out of context.
“There’s nothing in the e-mails that shows that global warming is a hoax,” he told Threat Level. “There’s no funding by nefarious groups. There’s no politics in any of these things; nobody from the [United Nations] telling people what to do. There’s nothing hidden, no manipulation.
“It’s just scientists talking about science, and they’re talking relatively openly as people in private e-mails generally are freer with their thoughts than they would be in a public forum. The few quotes that are being pulled out [are out] of context. People are using language used in science and interpreting it in a completely different way.”
Trenberth agrees.
“If you read all of these e-mails, you will be surprised at the integrity of these scientists,” he says. “The unfortunate thing about this is that people can cherry pick and take things out of context.”

This just in…Earth 4.5 billions years old film at eleven. How many times has “climate change” taken place? Maybe, say, 9 million times? Every 500 years or so, give or take a century or two? Do you libs actually believe that the Earth’s temp. and CO2 levels have remained stagnet for the last 4.99999999 billions years? C’mon, the Tooth Fairy, Santa, Big Foot, and the Yeti have more credibility than gore.

Our Choice? I made my choice… not to buy books written by Al Gore. I will sign up for this home study course on how to use Photoshop. We can all brush up on our skills and get them up to par with him.

Look, I hate to be the one to break this to you but people like watching conservative shows and reading conservative books for the same reason they like to read the tabloids. There’s no telling what those whacky Republicans will say next!
Buying Gore’s book, while educational doesn’t appeal to most Americans because it’s more text book than comic book. Let Hawking put out a book and see how it does against Palin’s. He would lose and yet he is probably the most gifted theoretical physicist since Einstein.
You keep putting stock in book sales and T.V. ratings as if watching Fox News or buying Palin’s book means that everyone subscribes to what they are saying. But that can’t be true because conservative’s were enjoying high ratings and big book sales even as the nation gave the presidency and both houses of congress to the Democrats. It’s entertainment, and for many people, Palin and the gang at Fox are the people they love to hate. I personally wouldn’t enrich any of them, but Americans are free to do as they wish.

im writing a paper on this stuff now and personally it disturbs me how these people can blatantly change opinions to something completely opposite to what they have said before. Heres some examples…
The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population. — Reid Bryson, “Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man”, (1971)
This cooling has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. If it continues and no strong action is taken, it will cause world famine, world chaos and world war, and this could all come about before the year 2000. — Lowell Ponte “The Cooling”, 1976
Those quotes were from enviornmentalists in the 70s, I am truely amazed that statements like these can just be overlooked and changed to the exact opposite… Global Warming.
Even if you are a staunch enviornmentalist you must admit to the wishy washy nature of these people, such as Al Gore who at first used global warming as his bandwagon… but then changed to global climate change. If you know anything about history before this century you are immediatly struck with a multitude of times the earth has undergone changes from warm to cold… at one time the whole entire earth was covered in snow and at others the average temperature was 120 degrees. You can not look at a time period of around 20 years and from that determine a catastrophic shift in earths climate will happen… even though data shows earths temperature rising is because tthis data was compiled just after the fall of the soviet union… you butt most of their weather stations off-line… and since most of those stations were located in the coldest part off the globe… it only seems reasonable that the average temperature would raise during does time periods :)
