Groundhog bites Bloomberg, will do it again in six weeks

YouTube Preview ImageA little unsolicited advice: Never ask New York mayor Michael Bloomberg to pet sit while you’re on vacation. Let’s just say he’s not good with animals.

In an attempt to set up a good photo opportunity yesterday, Bloomberg manhandled the Staten Island Zoo’s ground hog. It responded to Bloomberg’s gentle touch by taking a bite out of his hand.

“They were definitely wrestling there for awhile,” a zoo representative said. “They definitely looked like they were involved in a tussle.”

Tussle? Bloomberg looked like he was competing in a greased pig contest.

Final score: Groundhog 1, Bloomberg 0.
