My family used to have a big farm in that area (Peekskill) where they could commute from NYC. My Great-Grandfather was an executive with Fleischmann’s Yeast which was the big industry in the area, and my Grandmother was a pretty famous singer, so they bought this place back in the 1920′s to get away for weekends. It was COUNTRY back then.

My guess is that there are a heck of a lot of people who are still “bitter clingers”, and who resent the influx of city folk – even today. This is not going to end pretty.

The culture of gun ownership has been so unfairly bastardized that it just boggles the mind. The emotional reaction to gun violence is the only driving force right now, with virtually no intelligent discussion taking place in the chambers of our elected officials or in the media showrooms. Both of these groups, elected officials and media types, who make up a very small segment of the population, are experts at making whatever they say appear to be opinion that is shared by all. So, like pied pipers, they play their music and the minions just fall in line like drugged inmates at an asylum.

Plainsman is correct about those of us who are gun owners. It is time for those of us who have defended and currently are defending the US Constitution need to speak out now in one very loud voice to the grabbers. NO WAY are you going to take away our guns and our 2nd Amendment right.

We the people are the ones who have made this country great and we sure as hell are not going to give it away to the likes of Feinstein, Bloomburg, Moore and barry. Check all of the statics. There where almost 11K people killed by DUI last year. We all saw what happened when there was prohibition. It made those who where willing to break the law very rich (Capon and Kennedy). It killed more people than any other amendment to the constitution.

As for the paper giving out the names and addresses of gun owners, tit for tat and now they are crying about it. Too BAD, suck it up. The paper started this and now it is getting finished by those who had their privacy violated. Who ever hacked the database should list their incomes, where they go to the gym, where they send their children and any other information that will crawl under the skin of the looney left.

I would recommend that the scammers, ie Nigerian Prince, Grandpa, free trips, etc, use the subscribers list to use as potential “customers”. After all, if they read that rag they are most likely gullible dolts.
