Harry Reid says the Republicans are making sweet, sweet love to Wall Street

by editor on May 9, 2010

Put a log in the fireplace, lower the lights, and cue up a little Barry White mood music. Ohhhhh, baby.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) accused Republicans Wednesday of “making love to Wall Street.”

Reid charged that Republicans are stalling action on a Wall Street reform bill because “they are having difficulty determining how they’re going to continue making love to Wall Street” by resisting banking regulation.

You know what? We’re about to the point where we’re ready to cut poor ol’ Harry Reid some slack.

Sure, he says crazy ass things like the Republicans are making love to Wall Street. But no one should be surprised by his crazy crap at this point.

This is the same guy who accidentally voted against his own healthcare reform bill twice. And to complete the trifecta, accidentally voted against his own banking regulation bill.

A note to the Reid family: Please reserve a room for Grandpa Harry at the retirement home in Winnemucca. He’ll be needing it come November.

If less regulation equals making love, he’s right. But it’s interesting to note that conservatives want less regulation across the board. They have no favorites. They want everyone to have an equal chance.

Liberals want regulation because regulation gives them the power to pick winners and losers. And invariably, under liberal regulation, their friends and contributors are the winners.

As a rich liberal I know once said: “The rules do not apply to me. I know my heart is in the right place … Don’t hate the rules; Use them to win.”
