No way! That is a put on… Who would write that?
I look to the upper left of my screen (one of the few times I go left on a topic) and I see a hot blonde chick with a killer rack in a ‘You Lie!’ tank top. How is that a joke and how is it BS?

Administrator, you sir need to clearly enhance the site so that it is more accessible to the visually impaired! The only way one could make such a remark that this site lies and is full of crap is if one cannot not see the wonderful T&A (sans ‘A’ in that banner display) in the advertisements.

That or the man who made the comment misses the YouTube level of misspellings and overall low level of discourse found in the comments posted there. One of the two reasons must account for the dislike.

Admin- can it kill you to show the ‘A’ in the banner ads with the girls posing for the T-Shirts? Remember, you can if you think you can…

Its so funny to see all you delusional conservative Republicans squirm now that you’re out of power (again). Your policies never work, inevitably lead to ruin for the country, and then we Democrats have to take control and make everything right. Why don’t you do everyone on the planet a big favor and just stay out on the golf courses, telling racist jokes to each other and leave the business of running the country to people who know how to do it.

Well, at least it was OUR country to ruin. You won’t even get that chance…This country won’t be YOURS or OURS if we keep traveling down the road Obama and his cronies have us on. We BOW to no one! The truth shall set you free…look into the relationship between NBC, GE, Obama, and Iran. I think something is coming that will blow your minds. But, somehow it will be Bush’s fault…GE, who owns NBC, who recieved billions in “stimulus” money…yadda yadda…just look at NBC’s stance on Obama…they worship the ground he walks on and they now BOW to him? It is easy to just blame others and shift blame…it is hard to be a man and humble yourself. I have never ever ever heard a liberal speak humbly…and I mean never.

Conservatives live in a state of constant paranoia! Go grab a budweiser and watch another episode of 24. I don’t know when you family came here, mine came over in 1638 – your’s were probably still huddling in leaky huts and picking potatoes (oooo is that racist?). The only big thing coming – Rush Limbaugh will actually get so fat he will explode. Gruesome, but oh so enjoyable.

I wonder if that is what the majority of Germans thought …

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
Then they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
I did not protest;I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)

P.S. Funny you should mention that because my Democrat friends at work talk about that show 24 all the time and I haven’t seen 5 minutes of it. I am too busy listening to Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Rush…and all those crazy right wing extremists. Hey, are you one of those people who had a “dissent is one of the highest forms of Patriotism when Bush was in office, now are here calling people paranoid? Of course, you are the ones changing definitions all the time, cough marriage, cough. Among other things. Conservatives have good reason to be paranoid with your lack of critical thinking and understanding of your surroundings. As for your family comment, all i can say is I can’t comment on that because I have no clue what your point is. I can tell you that my family has been here a very long time and my wife even longer as she has some American Indian in her family tree so go have another drink of that Kool-aid. 1638-I am sure your people who arrived here in 1638 were just like our ancestors-coming here to escape totalitarian rule by either a church or a monarchy. Guess what-you have pissed on all their graves by electing a man who is a totalitarian psychopath who will, by this time next year have already taken your income by forcing gubment healthcare, taken your 401 by signing a law that will take 401’s and roths and spread them out to the have-nots(since social security is broke), and you won’t be able to gas your car, or heat your house because of cap and screw-great job making your ancestors proud-the ones who braved the freaking North Atlantic in small wooden boats, under wind power, with small pox, and every other imaginable disease, to get here to freedom, that very freedom the soldiers you and your lefty nutjobs still spit on, and that very freedom you sold for a cup of kool-aid to the obiden regime. Funny-you don’t realize it yet, but you are a SLAVE!

It;s funny how people spend so much time defending their political party, while the government as a whole takes away our money as well as our freedoms. Maybe we should all wake up a see how people like Henry Waxman pull stings and pass laws so they can spend their life in political office. Cap and trade? Really? Emissions in the EU went up 13 percent under cap and trade, but I guess our government can do it, cause we’re so smart…. thanks Henry. Wow, you think Ziegler gave O’Donnell a “beating”? Ziegler is an idiot, a fool and a liar and you’re at least a f**king idiot and a fool if you think he gave her a beating, that she would have been reeling from it or that Ziegler the clown has anything remotely true, useful of meaningful to say! She didn’t come off as vacuous, she came off as incredibly graceful to just let him rant and insult her, it was obvious that far from reeling from a beating, she simply let it roll off her back and was more amused than anything because the guy was an idiot with nothing serious or substantial to say. He’s a nobody with nothing.

Here’s a beating dude, and a legit one, if you even remotely, for even a moment, believe the ridiculous right wing propaganda that there is such a thing as “liberal media bias” then you rank as one of stupidest people ever to walk the earth. You obviously don’t even understand the definitions of liberal and conservative, you obviously have no clue what the actual spectrum of political thought and opinion is, and you obviously have no clue about who is actually presenting you the “news,” what their agenda is, what the results of their efforts have been, or what the actual news is that they either report on misleadingly or censor and don’t report on at all or rarely. You are indeed a f**king idiot!

From Gordon Metcalfe, who has been banned for a foul mouth:

Today I read about the southern baptist and former running mate of Alan Keyes who is openly ‘praying Obama will die’.
I am not particularly a fan of Barack Obama; as a liberal I consider him a something of bait and switch. But I do not countenance murder or inciting of same.
OTOH, I could never have voted for John McStain as he has no moral compass whatsoever and adheres to the principles of McCain’s political career and nothing more, nor has he ever been anything more or less than that.
There is not even any point whatsoever in discussing Sarah Palin’s complete lack of credibility, ignorance, extreme fundie conservative world-view,(using the term in the unfortunate contemporary sense), outright ignorance of anything regarding national politics or or foreign policy and a total disregard for ethics, or her ability to garner significant votes on the national electoral stage, but I digress. Even you folks would hopefully recognize a cheap opportunist when you see one.
BTW, I don’t doubt that she can see Russia from her house.
I’ll generously add that Clinton would have sucked as a choice as well, but that is far besides the point.
In fact, my point is, that you all should know that I am monitoring this site daily and reading every new comment. The ‘editor’ may be able to block my comments but he/she cannot block my access to viewing this and I am watching very closely for veiled threats.

I am warning all visitors to this site right here and now that if I hear any more veiled threats, I am forwarding them directly to the FBI and DHS, as I have already previously done, and I am ppretty certain the editor knows of which comment(s) I refer to as he/she responded when I noted it.
You have been warned.
As for the people that run this site, I am sure you are aware that if you are served an FBI security certificate you will be unable to warn your posters or discuss that event with *anyone* under threat of federal prosecution.
Keep in mind that the new focus of the DHS is teabagger-terrorists, militia, right-wing hate sites, racist groups and bloggers and gun freaks.
Keep it clean folks, or you may find yourself under the watchful eye of the NSA or the FBI and you will not know it.
Criticism and insults are one thing (guilty myself) but anything remotely resembling a potential threat is going straight to the newly-saved FBI email address in my contacts database.
Cheers :)

You might want to note that there is a distinction between “praying Obama will die” and, say, “praying Obama is murdered”. The first allows for death by disease, car accident, choking on a pretzel, undiagnosed heart disease, etc., etc. Now just for the record, I cannot endorse wishing for the death of any president just because I disagree with him (and I absolutely disagree with Obama) but wishing for his death is not a threat. Before you go off reporting the next guy who writes, “Obama would die laughing at that” (or whatever) you may want to switch to decaf and honestly ask yourself, “Is this really anybody else’s business?”

I love it when they turn the individual village idiots loose on us. They gather no facts. They weigh no differences. They use no deductive reasoning. Then they throw it out there like it is a fresh steak in a lion’s cage.
What do they think informed individuals will do with that steak? Man alive; you think they would learn. Let’s hope other libs see the light like I did back in 2000. Once I got educated and working hard to make a decent living I could see the light.

Again with that said, He is not a conservative nor a liberal He is not labelled with such human made traits. He is beyond and above all of that. He is not on our side, He asks us to be on His side which is the best and most perfect side and forget about our own Will.

Something that conservatives TEND to gravitate to, where libs find a bit more difficult to go for, that doesnt mean though that conservatives are pious nor saintly nor perfect…

Hey idiots – while you’re pretending to understand a complex issue like climate change and making a lame attempt at intelligent scientific commentary/critique and interpreting an article for your ‘readers’, why don’t you learn to spell ‘Celsius’ (a measurement of temperature in an article about global warming) right? No, it’s not ‘celcius’, as stated (at least twice, so it’s not a typo) in your statistically misleading article on record low temperatures in the USA and Australia–you should have known that since I highly doubt the media sources you cite spelled it incorrectly. No, I’m not being pedantic – I have a hard time taking your arguments seriously when my fourth-grader can spot your mistake – if you can’t spell Celsius even when all you had to do was copy the word verbatim from your source, how can I take any scientific (more likely politically-motivated pseudoscientific right-wing agitprop) conclusions you draw seriously? At least use your spell checker before publishing, and consider proofreading both before and after you publish.

I would get into the ridiculous assertions the article makes, but I have to question your intellectual capacity given the many errors which make the blog nearly unreadable – it’s not worth the effort it would take to dismiss your hopelessly regressive, outdated, and out of touch arguments. I will accept your money, though – email me if you’re hiring an editor; I could do it in my spare time in the evenings, and I could sure use some new kitchen appliances for my RV.

Don’t you know that the temperature anomalies you cite are evidence of global warming/climate change? The whole earth doesn’t warm at once; there are regional and seasonal anomalies caused by uneven heating, unusual cloud cover, changes in ocean currents and wind patterns, and other factors which cause extreme variations in temperature and precipitation (both unusually high and unusually low). If you’re serious about making an argument against global warming, try not to cite evidence that undermines your wild theories. You’re embarrassing yourself and those who make legitimate critiques of the prevailing body of knowledge and opinion regarding climate change. I guess it’s easier to fire off an inaccurate but blistering polemic than to carefully research and flesh out an argument and write thoughtful and meaningful points and counterpoints. It seems like you’re engaging in many of the same practices that cause you to hate ‘the media’ – as long as it’s entertaining, forcefully written using the latest political buzzwords, and you *sound* like you know what you’re talking about because you’re so adamant, that’s more important than actual facts and correctly spelling basic scientific measurements and temperature scales, right?

Aww, forget it – you probably didn’t even understand a word I just said. Don’t worry, kid – you’ll get out of the third grade and get the big-kid spelling tests and science books if you study *really* hard this year and eat your veggies and PBJs.

Love and whinnies,
StandardbredHorse

I have a hard time taking anyone serious who can’t distinguish between typing and spelling , and who has nothing more important to do then to spend time writing such unremarkable prattle. A person who has nothing of more value to attend to does not warrant others to do anything more than laugh at your derangement.

Reply to this comment

Gerald McRaney August 20, 2009, 6:19 am at 6:19 am

Are you kidding me, Vince? You wanna play that off as ‘typing’? No, a typing error occurs because a key sticks, or your finger slips on a keyboard, not because you can’t spell something. Besides, if you’re going to write for a living, you’ve got to make friends with a keyboard, my friend–and you also have to proofread. I don’t know what’s worse: someone who purports to be a writer who can’t spell, edit, or proofread, or a mindless dittohead who defends that so-called “writer”. The question is can *you* distinguish between typing and spelling? I don’t know what kind of keyboard you have, but last time I checked the ‘C’ key (for “Celcius” vs. “Celsius”) is far enough away from the ‘S’ key that you’d have to make a concerted effort to hit it twice, on the same word, in exactly the same spot, in different sentences. Do you know what the odds against that being an accidental typing error are? Oh yeah…you’re a climate change denier…math isn’t your strong point any more than reading comprehension. My bad.

Unremarkable prattle would be the purview of the blog’s purveyor and feeble-minded fans. Am I deranged because I made a valid and accurate criticism of the writer’s ill-informed, ill-prepared, grammatically challenged and fact-bereft article, or are you just sore because I pointed out the irony of someone who was attempting to write about science that couldn’t get a fourth-grade level science term spelled right even after 1) transcribing it from an original source which must have spelled it right, 2) making the same mistake multiple times, 3) letting the mistakes pass through the proofreading process, 4) publishing the mistakes, and 5) reviewing the mistakes after publishing without catching and correcting them.

You have to hold yourself to a higher standard if you hope to take on the media. The NYT, WP, and other media outlets have credibility for a reason. One of those reasons is their ability to research a story, to publish things which are at least reasonably factually accurate, and to meet high standards of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. By definition, a writer (and any credible publishing source) should have a good command of the English language, particularly so-called “conservatives” who advocate English-only programs. Seems to me like you should be fluent in your native tongue.

Bad grammar distracts from your message and detracts from its credibility. Instead of getting defensive, why don’t you (or the publisher of the blog) up your game, fix mistakes, put more effort into writing, proofreading, and editing, and work to get better at it? It would do wonders for your ability to convey your point without looking like a numbskull, and would be a better use of your energy than trying to come up with a witty comeback or counterattack against someone (me) who is right. The word was spelled wrong, it wasn’t an accident, it looks bad to misspell simple scientific terms in a science-based article, and it undermines the credibility of the article. That’s an unassailable position–you can’t win on either a factual or a moral basis. Come back when you have an argument you can actually stand behind without embarrassing yourself.

You are a pompous horse-ass, Mr. Horse. I bet you’re the kind of person that takes two hours to complete one paragraph as you’re constantly looking through your reference tomes for new and creative ways to complete a sentence. That way, you can pretend to feel that you have a modicum of power over others to offset your sad, trivial life away from your 56 Kbps modem. I think you must be loathed by most humans in your realm of the world. I bet you race home after working as an office clerk just to start your life as an internet troll. After you waste a few hours and spew forth a few flames, you probably grab a bowl of Haagen Dazs, sit on the couch next to your cat, and contemplate suicide. All this because you feel like everybody hates you. Or maybe you were weaned too early. Am I getting warm?

Gerald, you might consider the comments of noted philosopher Bertrand Russell:

A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

Words to consider before playing trivial pursuit in your head.

It’s like when Fox News says that they hate the media… They are reffering to the mainstream media. They are the alternative to the mainstream liberal bias, and so is this site.
Yes, they are technically a “media outlet”, but they are NOT the overwhelmingly numerous liberal “sources”.

So… you’re called, I hate the media right?

Okay, I’ll buy that.

Except i keep seeing these little…oddities.

After I looked at your ads, and examined a lot of what you have to say, I can’t say I’d agree with the title. It seems like you LOVE the media. Or at least Fox. Which the one of the largest, if not the largest, Media Conglomerates in the world. You also seem very favorable to Glenn Beck. Once again, a media columnist in both radio and television. He’s probably one of the most biased columnists I’ve ever seen.

His distortions on the public art of Rockafeller center lacked any grasp of art history, nor did he even report the full story on Diego Rivera’s mural controversy. Rockafeller, a devout capitalist and philanthropist had the mural DESTROYED the day after it was completed. He failed to mention that part of the story. You don’t even need to know art history to know that, just watch the movie “Fridda” to know that.

He brings in two (count them on your right hand) two scientists to prove that DDT is safe, and that the ecological activists who got it banned as a pesticide in the world were a bunch of self-righteous hippies draws so many logical falacies, and completely omits the other side of the argument. Not to mention THOUSANDS of scientists who agree DDT is in fact a dangerous, poisonous substance to humans and the eco system at large. I wonder why he did that? Oh wait. yeah he did that because they use ACTUAL Reason and Science, rather than jump to illogical conclusions. DDT in fact isn’t even that effective at pest control Mosquito populations in fact rise after DDT is used because it harms other insects and birds that keep mosquitos in check.

So please change your name. You Love the media. If you loved the media you would prescribe to just as rigorous of fact checking you do on liberals and “the liberal media” as you would against the “conservative media.” By endorsing this man and the same propaganda from Fox News you are just as disingenuous and irrational as the socialists and liberals you rail against. It is very sad. Edward R. Murrow hates you. I’m just disappointed by your name. Was hoping this would resemble a more reasonable rational view of events and politics. Enlighten yourselves and read. Read some Emmanuel Kant.

Soledad O’Brien is such a phony. In April 2008, Reverend Jeremiah Wright gave a speech in Detroit to the NAACP.  One of the things that  he said in this speech was that black and white children learn with different parts of their brain, and then gave an “unflattering imitation of the way white pastors speak.”  Peoples comments were that he gave a racial speech. Soledad  O’Brien, on CNN, was quoted as saying, in a gushing manner, that the speech was a “home run” and “really funny.” When questioned about the things he said in the speech, she would say things like, what he really meant was …..or what he wanted to say was… Once again she’s covering the truth and being racist.  Just as with the Henry Gates incident.  In an appearance on Anderson Cooper, the night or so before CNN’s “The Moment of Truth” she appeared enraged that it was a racial profile against Gates. She said that she got calls from her FRIENDS saying it was all about Gates being black.  She went on that show with the purpose, at all costs, to destroy the credibility of the white police officer and throw him under the bus.  When Cooper was talking she wanted to make the point that Gates said “Thank You” to the police officers.  By mentioning that, she was purposely misrepresenting the truth by playing down Gates’ belligerence and racial remarks, which she didn’t even mention.  Even Gates’ attorney and friend, said to the media that he used very strong language. Colon Powell and President Obama both said he should take blame in the incident.  I have seen this in many occasions with her, where she doesn’t speak the truth and hides the true facts.  Another time on Anderson Cooper, Cooper said to O’Brien that Senator John McCain hasn’t brought race into the campaign, like he said he wouldn’t.  You would think her response would have been something like, that’s great because he shouldn’t.  Instead she strongly insinuated that he would, even in the last week of the campaign. Also, her questioning style, in interviews  is completely different with a white person than it is with a black person.  Like in her interview with Henry Gates in “The Moment of Truth”  She just went along with his lies. I have seen several comments on various websites about her racism.  There are many other examples I could give of her racial bias, dishonesty and hypocrisy. She seems to consider herself to be black. She mentioned in an interview that her parents made it clear to her “you’re black” and that’s all there is to it.
She’s all about being #1, she wants the world to revolve around her. She comes first, before her family. She wants to be a celebrity figure and a star. In interviews she says she works 6 days a week, mostly out of town, and on some holidays. She goes to gala events, concerts, lots of entertainment events, as a single woman, leaving her husband and kids behind.
I think Soledad O’Brien is a very poor journalist. What ever happened to the days of CNN with Bernard Shaw and Judy Woodruff? T hey were honorable journalists. You could believe what they said. John Las Vegas

Nelson takes a 45 million dollar bribe for his vote. WOW!!!

As Democrats race against the clock to pass a sweeping health care bill before Christmas, Sen. Ben Nelson, the only known Democratic holdout, has positioned himself to play Santa or the Grinch.

The Nebraska Democrat is pushing to include air-tight restrictions on abortion funding in the bill, but that’s not all he wants.

Because of the $465 billion in Medicare cuts included in the Senate bill, Nelson wants help for rural hospitals and nursing homes, who he says will be hit hard. Nelson is expected to get his wish on that front, a senior Democratic aide told Fox News.

Why is this web site called “I Hate The Media”?

Like many people I don’t like the media because it has become monopolized by National Enquirer and Jerry Springer type news; while at the same time ignoring very important social, economic, and political issues.

For a second lets ignore the fact that a web site in of itself is a source of media. I would expect a web site called “ihatethemedia.com” to have articles on how media likes to fear monger, cover reality shows, get duped by the balloon boy stunt, give constant updates about Tiger Woods affairs, octo-mom or Sarah Palin… need I go on?

Instead I find this to be a political attack web site against Democrats/Liberals. Which I have no problem with if you call yourself “I Hate Liberals” or “I Hate Democrats” but this name creates a conflict of interests as it establishes a basic appeal to popularity.

The appeal to authority is that: Many people are tired of the media as an entity as I have described above and this web site exploits that mentality as part of a political agenda.

For this reason I submit my complaint to the hate mail.

Thanks

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365.

His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this he pays nothing and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep. If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.

He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free. He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head, Holy Crap, my dog is a Democrat!
