We hope Congressman Waxman feels a lot better than he looks

What Rep. Henry Waxman lacks in good looks, he makes up for in brains.

The powerful chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee felt a little ill on Tuesday, checked himself into an expensive private hospital and received treatment before ObamaCare makes that scenario impossible for ordinary citizens.

Waxman, who plays an important role in President Obama’s proposed health care legislation, checked himself into Los Angeles’ exclusive Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for what a spokesman called “routine testing.” Waxman is “feeling much better now.”

What’s gone unstated by the biased liberal media is that when ObamaCare becomes the law of the land, only the rich and powerful like Waxman will be able to get immediate medical care.

For the rest of us, checking into exclusive medical facilities for “routine testing” will be impossible. We’ll be reduced to drawing numbers and waiting in line as if we’re trying to buy a glazed twist at a neighborhood donut shop.

That’s probably a bad analogy, because the liberal food police will eventually outlaw donuts, too. But we suspect that Henry Waxman will still be able to get his French cruller with white icing and sprinkles.

The “Orkin” man, could be the answer for Waxman’s ailment. Henry call my exterminator, get sprayed, and lose that rodent look. Who knows?, under your little mouse like body could lurk a man or?…possiby your evil twin, Barney Frank!

All political perks such as their own private healthcare system, pensions, etc. should be abolished. Let them reap what they sow.

Why does anyone actually believe that public health care will deprive anyone from care when the US is the only industrialized western nation in the world with no such luxury? Who in the US is qualified to make such a judgment? Besides nobody, I mean.
Try living outside your own borders for a while.
Public health care is a success in every country in the world where it is implemented. Canada pays about 50% per capita of what the US does (public health care since 1966) and the infant mortality rate is lower and the expected lifespan is longer and people are much less likely to be obese.
In other words, it’s a healthier and wealthier and more productive population.
Or maybe you hadn’t noticed that Canada is not bankrupt, unlike it’s lumbering, retarded cousin.
Do you want to pay some shyster insurer $600.00 to 2500.00/per month and get declined for pre-existing acne or pay $50.00/month and never see a single piece of paper and choose any doctor you fancy and never get declined treatment for any reason?
Show me a country where public health has failed. Just one.

Let me decide what type of healthcare I want for my family, the next thing you and your pals will be passing is a save our water supply by dictating how many times we can flush. No one is denied at any emergency room in the U.S.! There’s your free health care in action.

That’s not far from the truth. Rather than control how many times you flush, since 1992 the government dictates how many gallons of water a toilet uses *per* flush…..no more than 1.6 gallons.

‘”with no such luxury”"

You said it yourself. It’s a luxury, not an entitlement.

I spend about $30/mo on medicine, no insurance. If you really believe it is right to make some people pay for other’s medical, then how about I send you my prescription bill each month?

Oh wait, you aren’t willing to put your money where your mouth is. You want to force EVERYBODY to pay for what you & a few others think is a good idea.

>>Why does anyone actually believe that public health care will deprive anyone from care when the US is the only industrialized western nation in the world with no such luxury?>>

Here’s why. Democrats lie about the number of uninsured, for starters. The whole move in my opinion to nationalize healthcare aims at two objectives: putting health insurance in place for the roughly (probably an underestimate) 13 million people in the country without legal documentation and putting revenue into the federal coffers.

And if the rest of the industrialized world is so great, why is everyone heading here? Take a look at Europe. See what socialization has done there.

As government intruded into healthcare, costs rose for the rest of us, especially after the Clintons’ HMO debacle. Bush didn’t help by catering to Dems on Medicare.

The fact this administration wants to incur more debt when it should be cutting both existing expenses and spending tells me the government is after complete centralization of power. Socialized healthcare is a complete ripoff for the American taxpayer who is funding the massive group that should be called the American tax recipient. Check out Tax Foundation figures for the return to taxpayers compared to the return for tax recipients–there’s a difference of around 800 percent.
