Hostess says liquidation decision expected Friday. Looks to us like the union just screwed their members. Oh well, we suppose some entrepreneur in China will start making them for way less.

If ever a government bailout was needed, it is needed to save the maker of the delightful Twinkie and Ding-Dong. I guess they can’t compete against cheaper, generic versions of their product.

The company which stands to gain the most is named Bimbo (yes that’s the name) bakeries which is a Mexican company which have opened new bakeries in the US and bought Sara Lee. The union their workers are represented by is the SEIU which basically owns and operates the Democratic party. The Teamsters have told the union shutting down Hostess that the company could not stand any further labor disruption without going out of business – yet they continued to strike. Frankly, I smell collusion.

Oh….. That is interesting. That can explain why they didn’t give a sh*t about the workers and use them as pawns. It didn’t made sense to me that they would be so obvious on a path of destruction like this unless they thought Hostess was bluffing. However if they truly knew about Hostess problems and didn’t care there had to be something in it for them and this could be it. Now we will know if/when Bimbo buys them… very interesting… and evil. So now US workers are getting the shaft and I can assure you, for the life of me dont know why, but I am sure that they will blame Bush, the Republicans, Conservatives and capitalism for this and not realize they were pawns in the unions schemes.

Twinkie. Ho-Hos. Ding Dongs.

There has to be a joke in there about Barney Frank, Heidi Fleiss and the senate.

Honestly hope that someone buys the plants and re-opens them as non-union entities. SCREW the unions and every union slug who featherbeds via the unions – let ‘em stand in a soup line at the local mission.

I read about one guy who said that he would rather be on unemployment than take the concessions that Hostess is proposing. Wonder how he will feel when that happens? He voted for Obama too. GOOD! He asked for it, he gets it.

Hostess should stick to it’s guns. Close down, and maybe reopen in a right-to-work state.

Unions are now essentially the Mafia. Workers do not need to be protected from employers any more. But it will not be long before they need to be protected from the unions. It’s like a ticking time bomb…

Unions at their best barely represent the needs of their workers any more, now they just represent themselves, for themselves. The worker is just a side show for the unions, but they just don’t know that yet. I think it’s about time somebody told them. I think the writing is on the wall as far as this union is concerned, now it’s time for the rest of them to come to that same realization.

Remember when you were a kid (you have to be old now) and you got chewed out for doing something dumb because you listened to someone else who told you to do it? Your mother or father would always bring up the line: If so and so told you to jump off a cliff would you do that too? OR If so and so told you to poop in the street would you do that? They were trying to make a point in you thinking for yourself and not following the stupidity of someone else. Sadly it appears that little bit of common sense is lost on these union idiots…They just followed their leader off the cliff and when tomorrow comes and the hostess company deciders to liquidate, these idiots will be blaming everyone but themselves…You would rather be unemployed than take a cut to save your job? Congratulations, you just buggered yourself.

Good point – I call them union lemmings. Why is the collective IQ lower than the individual IQs in the group? Hmmm.

union lemmings redundant

as to your question, my answer is an individual has to renounce a portion of his/her PRACTICAL intelligence to join up.

I remember the few occasions we’d drive near the Mrs. Baird’s Bread Co. in downtown Ft. Worth. oh the aroma would come in through the a/c and it was so delicious smelling. saliva glands would go from 0 to 120 in .00001 seconds flat.
