
Here’s another one of those stories that just never seems to show up on the nightly news.
The Office of Congressional Ethics wants five members of the Congressional Black Caucus investigated for violating House gift rules.
Details are sparse in the OCE status report, but the proposed investigations concerns five privately-sponsored Caribbean trips taken in 2007 and 2008. The trips were paid for by a New York-based organization called the Carib News Foundation.
It’s the first time the panel has made a recommendation like this since it was established in early 2008.
