We’re not sure which is funnier: the fact that Hollywood sent a delegation to Iran or the fact that Iran immediately demanded an apology from that delegation.
“(Iranian) cinema officials will only have the right to have official sessions with…Hollywood movie makers, when they apologize to the Iranians for their 30 years of insults and slanders,” said Javad Shamaghdari, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s offical art advisor.
“We will believe Obama’s policy of change when we see change in Hollywood, too,” Shamaghdari continued, “and if Hollywood wants to correct its behavior towards Iranian people and Islamic culture then they have to officially apologize.”
The testy Iranians are upset because the movie “300” portrayed their ancient Persian ancestors as bloodthirsty and because Mickey Rourke’s character tore apart an Iranian flag in “The Wrestler.”
We say, “Get in line, Iran.” No apology for you until we get an apology for Sean Penn’s entire career.

How about Iran apologizing for the invasion of 480 invasion of Greece, for the deaths of the original 300 and numerous allies and the trashing and burning of Athens?
As for Hollywood – curses just wouldn’t be enough. Why would 3 actresses go to a land that KILLS women when they have the misfortune to be raped, hangs teenagers, punishes romantic love, ? The irrationality of the liberal mindset is beyond understanding! Its not natural to want to be buddies with people who want to behead you!
Coincidentally, I just watched Body of Lies last night. Here’s something on what happens to Iranians actresses that dare to go to Hollywood without permission.
Good movie by the way.

Popular Iranian actress banned for appearing in Hollywood movie
8/20/2008 11:28 AM ET
(RTTNews) – One of Iran’s most popular actresses Golshifteh Farahani was banned by the authorities from leaving that Islamic country apparently angered by her appearance in the Hollywood movie, Body of Lies.
The 25-year-old Farahani appears in Ridley Scott’s latest movie, which tells the story of a CIA agent sent to Jordan to trace an al-Qaeda leader, with Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Authorities asked Farahani not to leave the country when she arrived at Tehran airport Tuesday on her way to Hollywood where she was about to consider a new offer, Iran’s state news agency IRNA said.
The award-winning young actress is reported to have not conformed to the law that requires Iranian actors and actresses to obtain a permit from the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance to act in foreign movies.
Her role in the film Santouri was criticized by the conservative media for “portraying a negative image of Iranian society and its drug problem.”
Farahani is said to be the first actress living in Iran while appearing in a Hollywood production.
There are no homosexuals or nuclear weapons in Iran!
Dear Lord, forgive me for lying like that. It was wrong. And please bless the starving pigmies in New Guinea.
