A special ring tone for guys who’ve served in Iraq and Afghanistan

by editor on August 10, 2010

One of our friends has a brother who’s a Top Gun pilot. He sent us this politically-incorrect ring tone and message:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

“The beginning of this reminds me of being in Iraq/Qatar/UAE/Kuwait/Oman. The end is kind of what I was wishing for the whole time I was in Iraq/Qatar/UAE/Kuwait/Oman.”

Thanks, Dave. And be safe up there. On behalf of all our IHTM readers, we appreciate everything you do for us.

Due to popular request, here is the MP3 file for your use. Right click (CTL-click for mac) to download:

Before publishing this article, we had tried for hours to make an easy way for you to get this to your cell phone, but in techland, nothing is that easy. We didn’t want you to incur any charge, and that was the problem at every “Make your own ringtone” site we went to. So, hopefully, you can figure out how to get the MP3 to your phone. It’s the right length for a ringtone, so you don’t need to any editing software to edit the MP3 first.

If you know how to upload the ringtone to a phone. please post instructions in the comments.

The ring tone might be ‘politically incorrect’, but I love it!

My heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation to all who
are defending the USA!!! God Bless You!!!

I was able to add it as a ringtone on a Droid. Go to this page on your phone browser, find the link, click and hold it, and it will ask if you want to save it. Then once it’s downloaded, make it a ringtone. I have it now and am using it. Thanks for making this and much love to our military for selflessly protecting us day and night!!!

Thanks for the insx! My ringer is cranked up and I am no longer answering incoming calls!

BRILLIANT! Yeah – browse to this page and download – or most have some sort of USB/Bluetooth connect to a PC/MAC and transfer that way. Makes you want to miss a call to hear it over and over… nice tactical pump shotgun sound.

Download the file to your computer. Go to http://www.myxer.com, upload the ringtone and send it to your phone. You’ll have to create an account, but it’s free. Love the ringtone!

Mike, just use the myxer.com website that Patriot Chic suggested, it’s super simple. Two minutes and you’re done.

It’s easy to put on your phone; save it to your SD card in ‘My Sounds’. Text it to a buddy, and get them to text it back. Then you can save as ringtone.

Hey – be careful – the “download to your phone” looks to have a monthly fee of $19.99! … By entering the PIN code sent via text message to the cell phone number supplied by you on this page, you agree to Flycell’s Terms of Use, Flycell’s Privacy Policy and you acknowledge that you are subscribing to Flycell’s Unlimited ClubPack service at a cost of $19.99 per month, for which you will receive unlimited credits every month. Credits can be used to download ringtones (1 credit each), wallpapers (1 credit each), animations (1 credit each), themes (1 credit each

Just so everyone is clear, the link we have in the article is completely clean, just a simple download. You might be replying to someone else’s comment here, I haven’t checked. But this problem is why we didn’t end up creating the ringtone for people — every ringtone site we could host it at seemed like a scam.

Does anyone have a name for this ringtone?
