Freshman Rep. Joe Walsh asks MSNBC’s Martin Bashir the question of the day

by editor on April 18, 2011

Rep. Joe Walsh, a freshman Republican from Illinois, asks Martin Bashir a question that makes the Brit twit cringe.

We’ve always loved Joe Walsh. He was great when he played with the Eagles and even later in his solo career when he did “Life’s Been Good To Me.” Nice to see that he’s been able to build a new career as a United States Congressman.

I’d really be curious what Walsh’s opinion of his fellow Illinois citizens being so stupid as to send both Obama and Durbin (repeatedly!!) to Washington D.C. is…

Probably the same opinion I have about the majority of the fools in my state, New Mexico, that keep sending the same clowns to Washington. Government employees who like their cushy job and welfare patients who are too lazy too work get to vote and they have become the majority in all the blue states in this country.

What is the solution? I don’t know but what I do think is anyone on the public dole should not be allowed to vote in major elections. Local elections like who should be elected mayor of a town or on the city council. County commissioners or state legislators? I’ll go for that, let them vote. Government employees should have some say in how their local communities are run but I draw the line when it comes to anyone living on welfare and foodstamps. They should not be allowed to vote, period.

When it comes to who is going to be Governor of a state, who is going to Washington to represent that state at the national level, and who will be our President? I say no, anyone who gets a paycheck from the government should not be allowed to vote. State employees will vote to get a governor elected who will continue to add to their gravy train. All government employees will vote for the Senator or Congressman, or President who will continue to add the meat and potatoes that go with that gravy. What “they” don’t understand is “we”, the ones who have to pay the bills, are getting less and less meat and potatoes to go with the gravy. And “we” are getting tired of it.

Anyone not earning and paying into the system should not be allowed to say how our country should be led. I have two exceptions to this idea. The older folks, who have worked in the private sector all their lives, and paid for their social security and medicare benefits, should have a say. Anyone in the military and all us veterans who served our country should have a say. I am a proud veteran of our armed forces. I am proud of the fact that the only paycheck I ever recieved from the government was when I was in the service. With very few exceptions I think anyone that cannot say the same should not be allowed to vote for who is going to be our leader.

He’s from a congressional district where the citizens can comprehend what they read in the voting booth and the Durbinites and Obamaites can barely comprehend their welfare checks!

We should all be doing a better job of challenging the media instead of answering their questions. Just as it’s important not to wait for the Right people in Washington to do the Right thing, but make the Wrong people do the Right thing, we can challenge the Holdovers at the Networks to do their job, as WE interpret it, not their closed society.

I also like the idea of anyone accepting government money of any kind above a certain limit not be eligible to vote — it’s like when you’re asked to participate in a survey, you’re vetted to determine if you or a family member works for or owns a marketing or advertising company — and if so, you’re excluded from participating cuz they know you’re answer may be skewed! This may be something the States can look into — may really change who we send to Washington and the State Houses…

Hahaha! Made me look it up. That would’ve been something.
