Life imitates Seinfeld: Eco-wackos call golf balls “humanity’s signature litter”

Where is George Costanza when we need him?

Research teams at the Danish Golf Union have discovered it takes between 100 to 1,000 years for a golf ball to decompose naturally. A startling fact when it is also estimated 300 million balls are lost or discarded in the United States alone, every year. It seems the simple plastic golf ball is increasingly becoming a major litter problem.

The scale of the dilemma was underlined recently in Scotland, where scientists — who scoured the watery depths in a submarine hoping to discover evidence of the prehistoric Loch Ness monster — were surprised to find hundreds of thousands of golf balls lining the bed of the loch.

What’s par on this planet?

Sounds like there would be money to be made in collecting up the balls, cleaning them up and reselling them. Do they have entrepeneurs in Scottland, or does this require an expensive government program?

Poor Loch Ness monster, bombarded with golf balls; no wonder he’s shy.
Eco-insanity is par for the course.

I used to salvage lost golf balls when I was a kid. There’s a bloody gold mine in that lake.

In keeping with the John Muhammed theme song, perhaps now the Loch Ness Monster needs her own theme song, and here it is…

That song makes me think of ECW (pro wrestling) and Balls Mahoney who came into the ring with a cover of that song as his intro music…

BTW Obama is fond of playing golf more then he is working the job he was elected to… So does this mean the Chosen One will give up the game as a show of eco-solidarity? No!

A few thoughts…

The fact that Hugo Chavez has denounced golf as a bourgeois sport for the elites, & that he is closing courses is one reason I love golf more today then I did a year ago. Now golf (& golf balls)is/are harmfull to the earth, another great reason for me to throw my Callaway’s into the car a hit the links even more.

I love Accept, “Balls to the Wall” included, I have seen them twice & they put on a hell of a show. They deserved to have hit it big over some of the turd bands that did make it big in the 80s, like Ratt. But it never happened, & I don’t know why. Their singer, Udo Dirkschnider is still out their performing, but Accept as I remember it is no more. It’s sad, but nothing lasts forever.

As for ECW, it used to be way better before Vince McMahan bought them out. The old days with Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, NewJack, the Dudley’s, Balls, Mike Awsome, the Franchise, & the others were good memeries. It’s kinda stale these days.

Everything was better before McMahon bought it.

He inherited the WWE, bought WCW & ECW, & created the XFL. He knows wrestling, but the XFL, ummm, wow, that was bad. Outside of “He Hate Me” there is no legacy to that.
