I can’t see any issues with this. I mean, as long as the criminals are willing to wait for you to unlock the safe, remove the trigger lock, open the separate container with the ammunition, and call your lawyer to put him on retainer for the inevitable charges you’ll receive for defending yourself. Shouldn’t take more than 5 or 10 extra minutes, and I hear criminals in Cali are patient. They’ll understand.

Lets see, another city run by liberals who basically gave away the keys to the bank to appease union workers. Now they are broke so they lay off cops and Poof!!! the crime rate goes up…Duh….

They are just following the lead of Stockton where the elected morons going back several terms screwed up the city. They bought an Arena/Marina/New City Hall/and spent millions on renovating a downtown including free rent to an upscale restaurant that folded in a year leaving the city on the hook, then came the housing crunch, Stockton Lays off cops and the murder rate skyrockets, from 35 in 2010 to 59 last year and this yer (not over yet) 66 and counting.

What does the state do? The liberturds in the legislature steal property tax revenue from cities and counties to pay their bills. They they steal all the urban renewal money from all the cities, then they raise taxes, all to benefit the state not cities. Now throw in really really stupid politicians at the local level and you make all the problems that much worse.

Stockton’s mayor came up with what she called “The Marshall Plan” to combat crime, it failed miserably…Not being a student of history she used the name of a plan that was economic aid to Europe after world war 2. She is one of those complete morons I was talking about. her replacement may or may not have been videotaping young girls in a bathroom, that’s still to come. This is the kind of shitheads that people in Kalifornia elect.

I say let the cities go belly up. Kalifornia is going the same way as Greece and if this fiscal cliff shit happens, Kalifornia will be the first to go under. Then who are the Liberals gonna blame? They have complete control, so I say F*ck them.

It’s difficult to feel sorry for these people, I’ll be honest. Chickens come home to roost sooner or later (I guess, I’m not a chicken expert) and when they do I’m not going to feel sorry for the consequences of peoples greed and corruption, or at the very least blatant irresponsibility and ignorance. Every man, every adult (see, I’m being p.c. there), must stand on his or her (I did it again) own two feet or get trampled. I don’t know the exact reason for their budget shortfalls, but as Silent above has pointed out, it’s probably due to liberal madness, and it follows a common storyline.

If you’re a man and through your entire life you spend way more than you take in and you’re able to fool everyone around you, you eventually die and don’t see the consequences of that. If you’re a city, state, or country and you do the same, many people live to see the consequences and suffer because of them.

I could go on and on and on about freedom and responsibility, but y’all know the drill. Unfortunately we seem to be outnumber at the moment. Me thinks the coming years are going to be very ‘interesting.’

“@UberFacts: 45 of the 50 most dangerous cities in the world (ranked by murder rate) are in America.” And they’re all run by Democrats.

Well, with fewer police, that means fewer criminals in jail, and more working criminals means lower unemployment!

WIN WIN Obama style!

“I certainly strongly caution anyone who has children at home not to have a loaded gun in the house,”

So, anyone with children in the house is, because of your inept policies, more exposed to criminal acts than anyone else? Instead of laying off 80 cops, how about cutting in half the pensions and paychecks of upper management of the city?

We always had guns in the house. I got my first gun when I was 7. A Remington Nylon 66 with black stock and I still have it. It’s going to be 52 next month. I was taught gun safety early on and I have done the same with my kids. My dad had a loaded .380 Beretta in the night stand at all times (no round in the chamber). We were told not to touch it, we didn’t and we knew why. I feel a large problem with kids and guns is no one teaches them about gun safety and when they get hold of one they’re clueless and something bad can happen.

One additional thing. After all the instruction, lessons, and tin can & paper target practice, not to lecture but don’t forget kids are visually oriented. Something like this

Except my guy used red food dye & water. I know it sure drove all the teaching points home for me and I’ll always be thankful and have tried to pass it down.

I never had a real gun of my own when I was a kid, but that was mostly because my stepdad was always broke because of his alcoholism. I got to handle guns, and shoot guns, but nobody ever taught me much of anything. I guess I figured it out on my own.

Yes, Bob Costas, guns are the problem. Nicole Brown Simpson would be alive today if OJ hadn’t shot her with that knife.

Here it is in plan and simple terms. We (sworn officers) can not be every where every time. When we arrive, the crime is over in almost all case and we are left with recreating and investigating what happened.

When ever possible, I pass along to those who I come in contact that they should look into different types and was to protect themselves.

As much as I appreciate the job you do, I still tell people, when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away. No, you can’t be there to prevent the crime. That’s impossible. I carry a gun, because I can’t fit a cop in the holster.

True rush and the look on their faces is priceless. The best line I ever heard was “damn man where did you come from I’ve been planning this for hours and didn’t see you guys at all”. The smart ass in me could not pass it up. I guess you just planned poorly.
