Menendez now a subject of grand jury investigation. “Really, Menendez’s true problem here is that he’s a Hudson County Democrat, which means that if the feds don’t find any corruption right off the bat they very well just might assume that they messed up somehow and will keep digging until they do find something juicy…” Well, Hudson County has always been a rich vein for that sort of stuff.

Yea but they are only investigating him for directing funds to his political butt buddy and not for the many, many hookers he has been bopping and underpaying…Maybe the girls need to make a complaint to the department of labor for getting less than other hookers…..

Make no mistake about it, folks. Bonfire speaks sooth.

I have lived in NJ all my life. I work with developers in various places in this state, Hudson Co. being just one of them. People in other parts of THIS state are in disbelief when told about “business as usual” in that county.

Several years ago, when Christie was still the federal prosecutor in this state, he announced broadly – “if someone comes to you with a bag of money, run the other way, because it will probably be us.”

Then a few months later a developer WHO IS ALREADY KNOWN TO BE UNDER FEDERAL INDICTMENT, is handing out envelopes with cash, and guess what? The politicians take them!!! Now seriously, what are the chances that someone under federal indictment would be looking to cop a plea by cooperating in a sting? Really, does anyone ever do something like that? (sarcasm)

Long story short, they needed a couple of busses to bring everyone to federal court in Newark.

But in fairness to the fine citizens and the honest politicians (joke), in Hudson County, they were not ALL from Hudson.

BTW, before Jersey City replaced Ellis Island as America’s waiting room for immigrants (not that there’s anything wrong with that – they opened a boatload of nice restaurants), the two-party system was alive and well in Hudson County. There were the Irish Democrats, and the Italian Democrats. And trust me, what they did to each other on a regular basis makes Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et al vs the congressional Republicans seem like a love-in.
