My wife was doing some last minute shopping at a large department store yesterday. The women checking her out said “Happy Holidays.” My wife noticed she had a forlorn look when she said it. My wife responded “Merry Christmas.” The lady checker very quietly said “Merry Christmas” back, so no supervisor would hear her, then smiled. How sad our country has denigrated to this point in the name of PC, which for some reason seems only to apply to Christians.
I always say Merry Christmas, especially to the twits that tell me Happy Holidays first. One of my few joys in life.

Let’s say I was born in Iran. Neither my family nor I are Muslims. I am positive that not one of them would want to give up the bonuses, time off and festivities that come out of it. Like I said on another thread no one should feel excluded as it is not a mandate to celebrate the holiday as a religious one. It is ridiculous.

Some stuff but not rituals per se, thankfully. I am sure that a lot of women and children appreciate that they don’t have to be part of a lot of the stuff happening before Christianity came along. As for Christ’s Birth is concerned yes He was not born on this day. There is no problem with this. He is a Royal. Royalty (especially Western European Royalty) celebrated their real birthdays in private and created a day later on or earlier in order to celebrate their birthdays with the rest of the people. I got no problem with this. Jesus is awesome and whatever day designated to celebrate His Birth is fabulous.

It is very possible His Birthday was earlier in the year and many do believe it was sometime in June however the day is not possible to pinpoint and that takes me back to what I said above about Royalty.
