Sounds like the voters aren't the only ones getting screwed in Michigan
MSNBC, one of those “real” news networks, reported the heartbreaking story of women who earn more than their spouses.
As they so delicately worded the issue, “When she earns more, men aim to please. Some say they look for other ways to give back, including in the bedroom.”
Fine. Dandy. We’re okay with that. But was it really necessary for MSNBC to use Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and husband Daniel Mulhern as an example?
Mulhern is the husband of Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm. He’s a 51-year-old product of the Midwest who was raised on the cusp of the greatest shift in gender roles in the nation’s history. When his wife became governor, he gave up his career to become a house husband, the primary child nurturer, the public second-banana.
Please be mature here. Ignore the obvious temptation to think about Mulhern as Granholm’s second banana and the questions it raises as to who the first banana may be.
As highly trained marriage counselors, we recommend that Granholm spend less time thinking about getting laid and more time thinking about the 15.3% of her state’s workers who have been laid off.
We know her husband can’t stop thinking about Granholm in that special way. He makes that clear by saying, “I am far from finished thinking about this stuff,” he told me. “It is no exaggeration to say I think about it every day.”
It’s an image that will haunt us for the rest of our lives.

What would our country do without “real news”?
Patrick…..this is a piece done for MSNBC’s Today, and is a Special Report Series that Maria Shriver has been working on for a year, “Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation”, and is categorized under “Relationships”…….not news.
There is also a video of the Governor’s husband, Daniel Mulhern, in a round table discussion with other men, and the changing roles of relationships.
If this is your attempt the elevate Fox to a News Organization, by diminishing MSNBC’s report, you have not only used a bad example, but have failed to put Fox in a good light….at the same time. Or…..is it something else, as you ended your article with “It’s an image that will haunt us for the rest of our lives.”
Patrick….come clean, are you not “getting enough” in the bedroom? (=:
FELINE! I saw your great piece on CNN–Fact checking SNL.
Feline, what does making fun of an NBC report have to do with making Fox news look better? What the heck? I don’t get the connection at all. Fox-phobia much? Don’t be a hater.
