It’s a consensus: Most people in the world don’t think global warming is a serious threat

by editor on April 29, 2011

This is not the kind of news Al Gore likes to read as his personal chef is preparing his eggs benedict. No, not at all. Turns out there is a global warming consensus, but it’s not the one Gore was hoping for.

CNS News offers up the details:

Most of the human race does not see global warming as a serious threat, according to a Gallup poll released last week that surveyed individuals in 111 countries.

Respondents were asked: “How serious of a threat is global warming to you and your family?” They were given the options of anwering: not at all serious, not very serious, somewhat serious or very serious.

Worldwide, only 42 percent told Gallup they believed global warming was either a “somewhat serious” or “very serious” threat.

As highly-trained experts in advanced mathematics, we have been able to determine that that means 58% don’t think it’s a serious threat.

In the United States, 53 percent of those surveyed think global warming is a “somewhat serious” or “very serious” threat. Gore shouldn’t celebrate those numbers, though, because that’s down from 63% in 2008.

Only 10% of the residents of Somaliland think global warming is a somewhat serious or very serious threat.

Greece is is the nation most afraid of global warming. Perhaps that nation’s economic woes can be attributed to the fact that 87% of Greeks spent all their money on Gore’s snakeoil.

Someone arrest this imbecilic fraud, strip him of his senatorship, his undeserved peace prize, his possessions (including his house(s)), and slam him in the pokey, with an open invitation for Joe Public to come and throw things at him – the harder, heavier and lumpier, and more frequent the better.

Oh, and make sure his cell is REALLY cold, and without electricity as a reminder to him what we’ll all suffer because of his unprincipled lunacy and downright lies.

They are all too young to remember that folks have been making millions crying wolf for decades. “Coming ice age” Global warming” “Climate change”.. Blah blah blah.
Either that or they do not, cannot or will not think for themselves.

America will never see a change for the better unless we are willing to make drastic changes. Money will continue to win over the environment and our children will suffer the consequences.

Hey, genius, since you’re apparently such an expert on economics, maybe you should learn how to spell the most successful economic system in history. It’s “capitalism,” not “capitolism.”

Of course, it’s possible that you meant “an ironic reference to an economy in which market forces are subsumed to political interests in Washington.” But I doubt it.

The newly appointed Climate Commissioner of Australia, Tim Flannery, noted zoologist and author of the book The Weather Makers, had this to say recently:

” If we cut emissions today, global temperatures are not likely to drop for about a thousand years.”

“Just let me finish and say this. If the world as a whole cut all emissions tomorrow the average temperature of the planet is not going to drop in several hundred years, perhaps as much as a thousand years because the system is overburdened with CO2 that has to be absorbed and that only happens slowly.”

So it sounds like even if AGW or “climate change” or whatever were real AND caused by human activity, no matter what we try to do about it, we’re basically just pissing in the wind. We might as well try emptying the Mississippi River by bailing with paper cups. In light of that fact, it seems unreasonable to get too excited about it and devote our attention to MORE URGENT problems that we can actually have an effect on. Yes, by all means, let’s use our resources wisely and not waste them but the hair-shirt hysteria peddled by Al Gore and the Hollywood shills is just bullshit that serves their own purposes.

And by the way Al, if you knew anything at all about science, you’d know it’s NEVER settled.
