New Racism Alert: MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell says it’s racist to talk about Obama’s “union bosses”

by editor on February 28, 2011

It’s a damn good thing we have the Liberal Racism Army out there defining, alphabetizing and categorizing everything that now qualifies as racism, because it would be absolutely impossible to keep track of them all otherwise.

Silly us. We thought it was an accepted fact that Barack Obama and the Democrat Party are in the pocket of the labor unions. But, no, it turns out that the mere mention of that corrupt relationship is now racist, too. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said so.

“The Republican party is saying that the president of the United States has bosses, that the union bosses this president around, the unions boss him around. Does that sound to you like they are consciously or subconsciously deliver the racist message that of course, of course a black man can’t be the real boss.”

Yes, of course, Lawrence, it’s racism. But then, what isn’t?

“”I don’t think it does anybody any good when public employees are denigrated or vilified or their rights are infringed upon,” President Obama said.”http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/02/28/obama_not_good_when_the_rights_of_public_employees_are_infringed_upon.html

BUT, denigrating and vilifying the tax payers and especially those teabagger bastards is hunky (make that “Honkey”) Dory!!

And the “right” of people to a secure border?? WTF do this crackers want??!!

What a complete POS.

You know, the one good thing that may come from all this racially confusing palaver is that even Black Americans may finally get tired of all this crap and we might actually be able to have that national debate we were deprived of way back in 1964; you know, the debate the race baters deprived us of.
However, I’m still trying to figure out were the unions fit into this whole race thing.

Lawrence O’Donnell, what a dweeb!

This is part of how the unions figure in:
The VW bus scared the crap out of the big US auto makers, so LBJ offered to put a high tariff on imported trucks if the UAW could get their rank and file to go along with the “civil rights” legislation he wanted to pass. The deal went down, we got quotas and the big 3 got to own the truck market until the gas crisis.

This is why the Ford Transit connect ships to the US with side and back windows, and a back seat. For the panel versions the remove the seats and glass ,replace the glass with metal panels and then shred the seats for recycling. This is also why the Subaru Brat had seats in the bed. It is rumored Subaru did not think people would actually leave them in, it was away around the tariff.

Strange bedfellows indeed, huh?

It’s just like in my high school; if anything remotely aggressive or disciplinary is said against a guy who happens to be black or even Hispanic, it’s racism. Whites, Slavs and Asians are just sort of there to take it, though.

Trust me, it all happens. Anyway, it’s even weirder here. Not only are the finger-pointers careless idiots who probably harbor some prejudices themselves, they’re grown men and women. Where is the logic in this world? I think the idealism of the 1960′s killed most of it off.

No insult intended, and yes, I meant a black person. I agree that not all black people see the world this way, but it seems the ones who get all the press coverage cry raaaacism for absolutley ANYTHING! I like you Kimmy. I may not agree with every single thing out of your mouth, but I like you and appreciate your opinions. But there are those who feel if I have ANY disagreement, alternate thought, anything, different from you, then it must be because I am raaacist! I HATE that as much as every black person hates being assumed to be stupid, lazy and criminal. Martin Luther King’s dream has NOT been achieved. Black people’s reps still judge everyone else by the color of their skin, not their character.

I don’t agree with everything that you post either and I don’t have to. However, I do respect people’s opinions if they actually exercise intelligence and common sense, which you do. In the end, regardless of your frustrations* (which in certain context can be understandable), generalizations can lead to a very dangerous road of misunderstandings ESPECIALLY for newly minted Conservatives who just happen to be Black or for Black Americans who are Democrats/Liberals who are looking for an excuse to cry racism.

By generalizing even as a joke, it can truly scare off Black Americans who are trying to find a way out of the slavery of liberalism AND also contributes to the cries of racism from the left of any color. Like it or not just being a Conservative of any color carries a lot of weight of responsibilities and a target tacked to our backs. In order for us to win our arguments and to win our cases and to make the changes that we want to make (for good or ill… even at the point of inconvenience), the Conservative has to be as lilly white (no pun intended) as possible. Anything can be used against the Conservative and thus the changes and the moving on that you and I both want continues to eludes us.

We can of course not be responsible for all misunderstandings many times self perceived by a liberal progressive (of any color), however as a Conservative I know that I have to do my better best and embrace people who are probably coming in here for answers to their issues. However the blatant idiots I have no respect and I don’t care what they think. Their minds are not open and what do I care? But what about the Black American who is dissapointed in Obama and just happens to find this site? Then sees posters generalizing (even as a joke… maliciously or not) about Black people? I wouldn’t blame them if they never came back. It would PROVE (even if it wasn’t meant to be taken that way) that Conservatives are racists. We cannot afford to miss out on the possible numbers of Black Americans and other persons of color that could become independent, conservative or libertarian that can grow out of the discontent about Obama and his administration.

Do I think that we can make changes? Yes I do. What we need is unity. We don’t have to agre 100% on the minor points and so on, but if we can agree to be inviting to those who are SERIOUSLY looking for change, I think things will be better in race relations.

I am sure that you wouldn’t appreciate my starting a sentence with “to a white…” and then add whatever generalization about white people that there may be out there. It would be wrong, because I KNOW that not all white people are one thing or another or have one set of beliefs over another. I cannot even say most white people are racists, because that is not the truth. All of my best friends throughout my life have been non-Blacks and I know that non-Whites can also be racist. I have experience racism from white people, asian people and hispanic people… It is what it is. I see everyone as individuals with respect. I could get hurt or I can gain a new friend it is life and I live it.

Sorry about the long post. I feel strongly about it.

*If you are frustrated so are a lot of people especially of color who are conservatives. We (people of color who are conservatives) have to just deal with it and move on with our lives and continue to do what we believe is to be right as to our understanding of the truth. If we decide to generalize about any group of people, we will not be able to move on as you, me and everyone else with common sense wants to. What I do is instead of being frustrated for whatever has happened or done to me or what I know from the past, is to be proper and respectful to anyone UNTIL by their words and actions they prove to me that they do not deserve my respect (regardless of the color of their skins). I don’t assume and generalize (again) unless by their actions and worlds they prove to me that they do drink the Kool Aid they do easily fall into the lame generalizations of their group. In short, I treat people (respectfully) as individuals until they prove that they are idiots.

Preston,

Governor Walker was elected in 2010 and, per Wisconsin law, cannot be subject to recall until 2012. Too, who or what gives “state employee unions”, a tiny minority of Wisconsin’s 5.5 million citizens, the power to “bring down” a democratically elected governor?

Wisconsin public employees are not oppressed Egyptians, they’re well paid, with wonderful fringe benefits, a Cadillac health care plan, generous pensions and protected by strong civil service rules.

The real oppressed people in Wisconsin are its non-unionized taxpayers
who pay for all the public employees’ wages and benefits. People like me.

You’re an idiot.

Right on Preston! This is the USA, imagine the nerve of people thinking that the will of the majority to not have their property stolen by a kleptocratic system is in any way representative of democracy in action! I say we show those taxpayers and take even more of their money . . . lets increase teacher salaries to $200,000.00 for nine months of work a year. . . it would serve them right for for questioning dear leader!

Public sector unions SHOULD BE OUTLAWED. They work against the interest of the very people who pay them, THE TAXPAYERS. With any luck, the situations in Wisconsin & Indiana will light the fuse to get rid of public education as we know it. It can be done better & for less then the public schools do it now. Other crap can be privatized as well, & it should start now.

This governor was VOTED INTO OFFICE running on this as his campaign platform! This is not a dictatorship, nor is his behaviour a surprise. No money –No money, no matter what race, party or belief system you espouse. He is only doing what he was ELECTED to do by the constituents of that state. Not really your business if you don’t live there, and if you do, vote him out next election if you don’t like what he is doing. He is not removing their right to collectively bargain for wages, only for the extra benefit that are on the chopping block all over the country in all kinds of jobs.

I hate the captcha codes…they suck. Nice comment Mac, hate much? Two racist digs and class warfare, all in one post. Your mother must be proud. I drive a Toyota 4Runner. 4X4. Because the comparible American vehicle is NOT AS GOOD. Why, 2700 dollars of the sticker price went to quality in the vehicle, not to some union benefit package.
Now, I am not sure what your hatred for CEO’s is. Perhaps, when corporation requires somebody to run the business, they don’t call you. CEO’s are hired like any other worker, unless, the CEO built the business himself from the ground up. The stockholders will see the offer the prospective individual submits as his employment compensation, then the stockholders who vote with their wallets, will select or reject the proposal. If they believe that a person deserves 250 million a year to make them money, the person gets hired. IT IS WHAT IT IS. Real world man. If you believe that the unions are not the problem, sorry, you are the idiot. I think if an American automaker could, they would close up shop in the UAW dominated states, and move to Right to Work states, and find that without union restraints on their freedom to make vehicles that customers wanted to buy, putting money into the actual product rather than the infinitely generous benefits packages to labor, you would find them competing with foreign vehicle companies. As it is, the only way to slow down the absolute beatdown that Toyota (Right to Work/NO UNION/built in the USA) was giving the big 3, was to LIE about some mysterious mechanical-electrical failure that was “killing” anybody who drove a Toyota. Funny, I just left Japan after living there for 4 odd years, and they weren’t having the same problems. I think PT Barnum was referring to you. Check the mirror, I am sure you will find my assessment is correct.

“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. Such emotional impulses of love for the unions and hatred of Capitalism Mac. If “exploitation” means increasing the standard of living of the masses, tripling the life span of the average man, and bringing wealth and prosperity to all those who live under it, then capitalism is a system of “exploitation.” If “exploitation” means making the masses slaves — then I refer one to Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and Communist China. In the proper sense of the term, the only social system that exploits its members are statist societies that view its members as tools to be exploited for “the race”, “the fatherland”, “the public good” and “the community.” Capitalism is the only system that bans all forms of coercion (i.e., slavery and dictatorship) for anyone or by anyone, since it regards each and every man as an end to himself, and not as a tool to be enslaved by others.

It accomplishes this by banning the initiation of force from all relationships. Under Capitalism no businessmen can lawfully force a worker to do something against his will (and vice-versa). Capitalism is not a system of exploitation, but is the system of laissez faire — freedom. If capitalists “exploited” the masses by stealing their “surplus”, as the Marxists allege, where was this “surplus” before capitalists existed? If not for capitalism, many of the masses you cry about would not exist — capitalism did not create poverty, it inherited it. The profits of capitalists are not the surpluses extorted from labor, but are the result of the proper use of one’s capital, as losses are the result of the improper use of capital.

Why are the laborers who demand a share in the capitalist’s profits, silent in demanding their “share” when he incurs losses? Why don’t they cry out and demand that they get to receive a share in those losses? If labor is the sole cause of all profit, then is it not also the sole cause of all losses? A moments reflection will point out that laborers are only responsible for their job description — they are not directly responsible for the losses of a business — and that the cause of an enterprise’s losses lies essentially with the owner, as do the profits. That a businessmen pays a worker less wages than the worker feels he deserves is not exploitation, as the worker is free to leave his job and look elsewhere for a higher paying one, if he thinks that someone can give him a better job for a better wage. Let any worker in Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, or Communist China try to attempt such a feat as leaving his job without permission of the state, and he will soon find what exploitation really means.

Your comment reminds me of some reports during the campaigns. Democrat convention video clearly shows groups forming during the mingle. These clumps of people migrated into whites with whites while the blacks were all hanging with other black peeps. Then they showed footage from the repub convention and there were no racial divisions regarding the gregarious nature of the attendees. There were a few stories about all this circulating in my regular blog site rounds. Maybe even right here at I Hate The Media. Not sure about that but it is great stuff. Shows how the conservative mindset is not so shallow to divide over anything that should not matter while the dems are mostly such low wattage dookies that they spiral right into everything the accuse everybody else of.

What’s odd is that I have never had issues with people who are “not like me”. You know, blacks, latinos, gays, whatever, I have had those issues. Not at shcool, not at work, wherever. I am not the dope that will say, “I have lots of black/gay friends”, but I know more then a few of both, & I get along with these folks. The difference between me(I will speak for myself, NOT for other conservatives) & more liberal, progressive types is I despise the “politically correct” BS of the left. I refuse to bend to their distorted societal constructs that they have been building during my lifetime. They do more way harm then the good they were intended to do, & they need to be destroyed. They are a wall we don’t need in society, & we would all be better off without it.

Apparently O’Donnell believes that all union leaders are white and that a black man or woman can’t serve in such a capacity. Now there’s real racism!

If O’Donnell thought the TeaParty was white, have you seen the thug union protesters in Madison? Almost as white as the snow on the ground, to quote the moronic Chris Matthews, “monochromatic”.
