Adios, amigos. MSNBC’s Schultz and Maddow losing viewers

Why is this man smiling? He must not have seen last week's ratings.

Why is this man smiling? He must not have seen last week's ratings.

MSNBC executives must be sweating bullets. Last quarter was a ratings disaster for the also-ran lefty network, and last week was even worse.

For the first time since her premiere last September, Rachel Maddow failed to top 1,000,000 viewers all five nights of the week.

And Ed Schultz. Poor Ed Schultz. After his disappointing premiere back in April, networks executives reassured worried advertisers that his ratings would grow. In reality, they’ve actually become more abysmal. Last week the bombastic buffoon’s total audience fell under 500,000 viewers three of the five nights.

Maddow has a bit of an excuse because Keith Olbermann wasn’t around as a lead-in to her show. But she’s been able to top that magic million mark during previous Olbermann absences.

Meanwhile, O’Reilly, Hannity and Beck have turned Fox News into the 1927 Yankees of cable news.

That sound you hear is the gnashing of teeth emanating from MSNBC’s executive suites.

The liberal solution will be to tax the conservatives to make it “fair.”

Sanchez would have done hard time if the guy he hit, Jeffrey Smuzinick, had died 5 hours or 5 days after the accident. Instead he died 5 years later. Time was on his side.

I heard that Ed Schultz’s ratings are now just above the infomerical of Mick and Mimi selling the Magic Bullet.

Once people realize that you CAN make a whole meal, without dirtying any pots and pans, with the Magic Bullet they will overtake Schultz too.

I agree with Pittsburg Z–Maddow IS a fine looking young man–I think it’s because the testosterone shots are addling its brain.

Remember the lesson of the famous ‘man bites dog’ scenario. The real story here is that Maddow and Schultz have any viewers to lose.

The problem is they really don’t have viewers to lose. Madcow & Special Ed really don’t have any ratings pull, but since that is par for the course at the money pit that is MSNBC, nobody notices.

Keith Olbermann averages less than 1 percent of Americans watching his show. Less than 1 person in 300.

I guess Olbermann is still the top rated cable news show, not on Fox. At least among 18 to 35 year olds, if you add all three of his shows airings together.

BathTubBoy’s rant about having the top rated show, in the prime demo, not on FNC was funny as hell. I just want to let Olby know this is like being the greatest ice hockey player born & raised in Kenya. Not too impressive.

BTW, the name BathTubBoy was imposed on Olbermann by FoxNewsChannel’s John Gibson. Years ago, when they both worked at MSNBC, Olbermann refused to come in to do his show when he knew he would have to report on the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal. He would be hiding out in his bathtub for hours at a time, refusing to go in to work. Then when the bosses could’nt get Obly to go in, they would call John Gibson to fill in. Hence the name.
