If, as liberals would have you believe, conservatives are rabidly anti-Muslim, they would certainly be against having mosques in their own neighborhoods. But a tidbit buried in a new Newsweek poll shows just the opposite.
CBS4 in Miami reveals the interesting Islamic insights:

A new Newsweek poll of registered voters highlights the divide between Republicans, Democrats, and Independents over the issue of Islam and President Barack Obama.
According to the poll, 51 percent of Republicans think it’s definitely or probably true that President Obama ”sympathizes with the goals of Islamic fundamentalists who want to impose Islamic law around the world.”
In addition, 59 percent of Republicans and 28 percent of political independents think “Obama favors the interests of Muslim Americans over other groups of Americans.”
The poll results come as conservative circles have exploded in furor over a proposed Muslim community center that would be built a few blocks away from the former home of the World Trade Center. However, the poll found that 72 percent said it would be okay if a Muslim group wanted to build a mosque in their community.
In response, a liberal spokesman said, “Yeah, but…yeah, but…yeah, but….”

Me too, I went to his wedding reception. Very interesting, good food, decent music(despite the fact I did not understand any of the lyrics, they were Persian)& excelent conversation. Many of the folks I talked to left Iran around 78,79,80, around the time of the revolution, & they have a very interesting take on things that you will not hear from Iran’s gov’t.
I know the guy through the local soccer scene, & have good conversation, but his wife hates hearing political talk.

Danybhoy, I too have many friends whose families left Iran in the late 70′s, early 80′s, and they are good people. But if you talk to them a bit more, you will probably find that they are not Muslim. They are Christians who were forced to leave Iran or Iraq, or die. Because of Islamic fundamentalism. Check it out.

As a Christian/Conservative, it pains me to see liberals label the moral people who fall into this group, as religious bigots. I am most definitely not Anti-Muslim, nor an Anti-Semite. I too have friends and colleagues that practice all religious freedoms, also Agnostic and Atheist.
On another note, I am Anti-Radical, Anti-Socialistic, Anti-Racism, Anti-Terrorism.

cover up the women and treat them like the worthless dogs they are! wooo-hoo!! Sharia law is coming to the heathens! Soon we’ll be able to bury our women up to the neck, stone them, shoot them in the public square, AND behead them for good measure- not to mention rape them at will ! They won’t be allowed to be seen in public with a man – and especially not one that isn’t a relative AND if that isn’t good enough – we’ll finally get those sub-humans OFF our roads and highways! (we all know how women are horrible drivers anyhow).
I love being a Democrat and providing hope and change we all can believe in!

Sorry to break this up but I’m conservative and I hate muslims. In case you haven’t noticed they like to behead and burn people and stone women and bugger young kids and they truely want to take over the world. So believe whatever you like about them, you won’t convince me.
