Nice typo: Reuters reports that boxer named Arreola breaks into teats

Oops. Bad typo from Reuters description of a recent boxing match. They meant he broke into tears. But let’s give the reporter a break – when the guy is named Arreola, it’s no wonder the reporter was thinking about teats.

Hmmm…maybe a typo, maybe not.

Yes, it could be a legit typo as the R and T are next to each other, but when I read the article I was immediately reminded of the story of the Disney book celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 60th birthday in 1988. At the bottom of each page were the words in small type, “Mickey is Sixty!”. They had several copywriters/proofreaders, yet none of them caught the intentional misspelling …”Mickey is Sexy!” on one of the pages!

Went to print and after it was released to the public, it was caught…the artist fessed up rather proudly, if I remember correctly.

Perhaps the Stabrook Staff was having a bit of fun AND wanting to do a little experiment to see who’s paying attention.

Truth be told, I’d have been sorely tempted and would definitely cop to the “typo” claim!
